My husband and I went for lunch and they were very accommodating. I had their seafood Cobb salad. It was delicious, but I wish the portion size was better for the price.
I had a positive experience at Columbus Fish Market. They have a gluten free menu that was not particularly extensive but still had several good seafood options. The manager came to my table to discuss gluten free food prep. I did not get sick afterward.
We've always loved this restaurant, but now coming here with a Celiac daughter we have a whole new appreciation. The staff was very knowledgeable and even though the gluten free menu was great, they helped us create an all-original dish for our daughter (and she didn't get sick). We definitely recommend it!
They changed owners earlier this year and it's no longer a Cameron Mitchell's restaurant. They still have a gf menu with a handful of items but do not offer gf bread. Our server was not knowledgable of food allergies and kept suggesting options with gluten, I had to remind him over and over that I had a gluten allergy- very frustrating and it made me a bit nervous. Overall, the experience was definitely not as great as other Cameron Mitchell restaurants in regards to their allergy accommodations.
Always good. Staff understand the issues of serious gluten intolerance
Aside from the fact my food was awful and the service was worse, the waitress didn't know anything about the gluten free menu. She brought my appetizer out with soy sauce, even after I specified I was gluten free. The GF menu also stated that all of the Fresh Catches can be made gluten free. I ordered the lobster and shrimp stuffed cod and when it arrived as just cod I was confused. I asked the waitress and she told me that I actually ordered the only fresh catch that can't be prepared the same way. Which would have been useful information before I ordered originally.
I ate two bites and had an immediate reaction. The manager and chef swore it was gluten free but it looked like a bit of soy sauce had gotten on my white rice (the bite I ate was completely white, but didn't taste like plain rice so I started to dig around in it.) The seafood I did taste was a bit over cooked. I would not recommend this place if you are very sensitive.
Enjoyed the blackened trout and grilled vegetables. Service was OUTSTANDING. Didn't care for the cerveche appetizer. Tons of corn with spots of seafood the size of a baby's pinky fingernail. Avoid it. Otherwise good. No problems with cross contamination
OMG amazing!!! Wide variety including dessert!!! I'm not a huge seafood lover but this place is ah-mazing!!!!
The service was terrible. It seems that they can do gluten free, but if you have any additional exclusion forget it. My daughter requested dairy free too...her whole meal had to be redone because apparently the waiter didn't understand butter is dairy. Extremely expensive for the quality and service. I would not recommend. There are a lot of other better choices in the area.
After explaining my condition to the waiter, I asked him to alert the chef AND double check my order before bringing it out. I ordered the g-free Shanghi style tilapia. When they brought it out I thought the soy sauce smelled WAY too good to be true so I insisted that the waiter double check gluten-free status with the chef. And the verdict... It was not gluten free. Brought me a "regular" order with wheat soy sauce. Should have known better when the waiter said he'd never heard of "that disease" before. Haven't eaten at a restaurant in 6 months but wanted so badly tonight to celebrate my fiancé's birthday along with the rest of the family. Sick & tired of going out to dinner and having a glass of water. Gluten free menus and restaurants that have them tend to support the fad, not the celiac. (Otherwise the staff would be properly trained). False hope just sucks.
Everytime I dine at Mitchell's, I am extremely pleased with the result. The menu selection, flexibility, service and knowledgeable staff are wonderful. I have yet to have a mediocre meal. I can always guarantee a great experience and highly recommend this restaurant! !
average food with below average service. They have a gluten free menu but no idea about cross contamination
Fantastic food here. Outdoor patio, friendly staff, wish they had more gf options tho. Superb seafood!
Mitchell's has a dedicated GF menu and my wife loves several of the dishes. They offer GF soy sauce for the shanghai trio which is salmon, scallops and shrimp over rice and spinach. excellent seafood all around!
Great food! Many gf options
A little pricey, but well worth it. Fish is fresh and excellent, and they offer a nice selection of GF options. Staff has always been very well informed and super helpful about GF. Best fresh seafood in Indy, IMHO, and is a great place to eat for everyone, GF or not.
Took my husband here for his birthday. When I made reservation the hostess asked if it was a "special occasion?" Upon arriving he was greeted with a hand written birthday card! Our server, Jenn, was knowledgeable and so sweet. Price was good, food was delicious, and he was even treated to a free dessert!
Great place knowledgeable staff, beautiful view! I would visit again and again
Excellent service great gf choices. Highly recommend.
