Super belle expérience, menu qui s’adapte, personnel compréhensif et accommodant. Ils étaient en prime super sympathique et le service était excellent. Ils m’ont mis en confiance et semblait bien connaître le gluten et la contamination.

2 Celiacs in our family and both loved their meal. Waiter was knowledgeable about Celiac and guided food selection. Great french food!

The food was excellent. I had the lamb poutine and it was delicious. They didn’t skimp on the lamb either. The only thing I would change is the $$. It should be $$$. 4 people with only water came to over $100 US dollars not including tip. Meals were $23 up to $41. Kind of pricy for my frugal wallet.

Menu not labeled but very knowledge staff. Almost the whole menu is gluten free and celiac safe. All sauces gluten free. Separate fryer. Delicious meal.

Poutine was insanely good. The menu looked equally delicious. Looking forward to returning.
p.s. just a note on the poutine. It’s not the French Canadian family restaurant style you’d be thinking of. It’s more of a French bistro (lick-the-plate-if-your-not-in-public) gravy with frites and high quality cheese curds. Whatever you call it, it was excellent - just adjust your expectations.

Good experience! No gluten free menu but server was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. You can have the poutine which is cooked separately. When I asked about one of the salads she said the dressing was outsourced and can contain gluten, they offered to switch it for an in-house dressing. Overall, the music was good; the food was good; and I didn’t get sick.

Dined here twice. Dinner menu has more GF items, including poutine. Brunch menu had fewer options (no GF poutine on brunch menu). Delicious. Jazz music at brunch was nice.

Poutine! French onion soup! Safe for celiac! This place was wonderful. Most of menu is gluten free or can be modified. They have live music most nights. Grilled lamp chops were excellent. Highly recommend this place in Old Montreal.

Was desperately hoping to try poutine while visiting Montreal and it did not disappoint! The fries are cooked in separate oil and gravy was GF. We ordered seconds and might go back again.

They were great at adapting the menu. The kitchen will make adjustments based on what’s allergies you have. Had the salmon and was fine.

Waitrise was aware by celiac disease. Had the burger without bread and they say the fries are baked in a separate oil. So i liked my experience

The menu isn’t labeled but our waitress was able to help identify what to avoid and confirmed with the chef that the fryer was dedicated. Had the steak frites, which was great. Didn’t get sick! A little touristy, but worth it if you’re in the area.

Beautiful spot with good food but the waitress did not inspire confidence when it came to celiac safe options. I had the salmon tartare which was delicious. They said they have a dedicated fryer but I did not have the fries.

I was hoping we'd be able to find a French-style Bistro to eat at and Modavie fit the bill! The manager reassured us when he seated us that the waiter could walk us through what was safe to eat. We had french onion soup, poutine, and ratatouille. The poutine was so good we ordered a second helping!

Mixed review. The waiters are familiar with celiac, they are well trained. However - when we went, I ordered a simple meal. Filet mignon with fries. When I tested the meal with a portable device for the presence of gluten below 20ppm, it flagged gluten. I asked the waiter and she confirmed the kitchen made a mistake and put the wrong sauce. They tried again, this time just fries and it passed. Hard to say! I would dine here again but not without testing.

Service and ambiance were incredible. Food was top notch. They really understand celiac, our server went over each meal and explained what was safe (all sauces except for Caesar dressing, dedicated fryer). After each order was rung in, he came back to tell me again he had let the kitchen know about my celiac. Felt well taken care of and had absolutely no reaction. This was a meal I will always remember ♥

I ate lamb penne and it was DELICIOUS. They are very aware of celiac disease. I wrote it on my reservation, the manAger and the server knew it when i arrived and they told the chef who used different utensils for my meal. Everything was delicious

I was thoroughly impressed at how many items both entrees and main courses were GF. The whole table ordered GF and all had different plates! The restaurant is very concious, just make sure to inform your waiter. We had a birthday so were able to bring our own cake we bought at Tau. They offered to cut it and serve it in plates with a candle. The food was great. Will definitely go back and enjoy their Jazz band.

My husband and I went to enjoy the jazz. It might be touristy but it was fun and romantic. I had salad, chicken and creme brûlée for dessert.
Yes
Excellent meal. Great server. Had the mussels and fries and the filet mignon followed by the creme brulee for dessert. Yum!
Good food and very fast service! Waitress knew what celiac meant and wrote down my allergy! Dedicated fryer, delicious French fries!
Yes
lots of GF options and the staff and kitchen are very knowledgeable. We had the mussels $ fries, pasta Bolognese, steak and frites, and shrimp risotto. Great restaurant and safe!
Yes
Since this restaurant is located in the old port it caters more to tourists (your plate arrives a few minutes after ordering, not really a night out kind of place). The food is ok, without being fantastic but it appears to be a safe place to eat for celiacs.
Yes
All pasta is gluten free. Fries are fried separately. Most items are gf and other items can be adapted.
Very knowledgeable staff and great food.

Was so excited to eat here after reading the reviews. My steak came out ice cold so I sent it back. I think there was confusion when they made it again. I was feeling pretty ill after eating here. The manager was not nice about the situation
All their pasta is gluten free and they were wonderful to work with. We enjoyed pasta, risotto and a wonderful outside space!
Yes
Staff was very friendly! Enjoyed the braised lamb poutine. Felt safe eating here and would return for sure. My husband also enjoyed his non gluten free meal which is nice!
Yes
There were many options and the staff is knowledgeable (which I found be the case everywhere in Montreal). I had a delicious chicken dish with morel sauce and French fries. I loved the variety of vegetables. All my non GF friends were extremely happy there.
Had an excellent meal here. GF items are clearly marked and there are many good choices.
Pleasant meal here with no worries. Lamb chops and fish delicious. GF creme caramel!

Gluten free dishes are marked on the menu, the staff is very knowledgeable, the food is delicious, and there’s live jazz every night. Highly recommend for celiacs!

The menu is labeled and they have a dedicated fryer. I had braised lamb poutine, the salmon entree & coconut creme brûlée! best meal I’ve had in Montreal. That plus the jazz music 👌🏼 recommend to all!

Friendly staff, lots of gluten free options, and they assured me they take every possible step to prevent cross contamination. Would definitely eat here again.

All of the reviews are spot on!!! We have eaten here twice on our trip. Known for their lamb dishes, we found the salads, pasta, lamb, everything delicious!

Staff was very knowledgeable and careful with my celiac daughter. Service and food were also great. We’re going back !

Knowledgeable and attentive staff; excellent food. Although there is no kids menu they were happy to make GF pasta for my daughter with celiac. They asked about the severity of her allergy, showed me how they noted “severe allergy” on the ticket, and happily answered all my questions regarding cross contact. When the pasta arrived it was gorgeous and delicious. My mom and I also ordered delicious dishes that could easily be made GF: beet salad, carrot risotto, and salmon gravlax. I’m writing the review one day after and we have had no reaction.

Amazing! We had dinner here and lunch while in Montreal. The steak frites, pasta, poutine, and salads were all wonderful! The service was also perfect.. cannot recommend this restaurant enough. They have a dedicated fryer and the staff is very knowledgeable about their gluten free options- and will ask the chef if they are not 100% sure that something is GF. Very vice ambience and live music every evening.
