Modesto Taco Tequila Whiskey

We ate here while visiting LSU. The server was knowledgeable about Celiac and the importance of no cross contamination. The menu is mostly gluten free with everything clearly marked. The food was amazing too. The chips and salsa is bottomless. The corn chips are fried in a dedicated fryer. Highly recommend. My celiac daughters ate here with no issue.

I absolutely LOVE Modesto! The margs are great, queso is gf, and the tacos are delicious! The owners wife has celiac so they are very understanding and Although sometimes their servers make a mistake, everyone is trying their best! Also, even though they say the chips are cooked in a shared fryer, most days all the chips are cooked at the beginning of the day. (There is some risk so decide for yourself) I’m pretty symptomatic and haven’t gotten sick from any time at Modesto!

Mixed feelings on this restaurant- they do have GF options noted in their menu. My daughter ordered 2 tacos and told the waitress GF. When the food came, she had flour tortillas instead of corn. They took the food back and corrected it, but it makes me wonder how serious they are about food allergies. Overall the restaurant was just ok. It was a busy weekend evening. Took a long time to be seated, took a long time to get drinks, foods, etc. My food was pretty good, but the other 2 in my party said they wouldn’t go back because their food wasn’t that good. The waitress was really nice, but was likely either inexperienced or very overwhelmed.
