Moe’s has a fairly extensive gluten-free menu. All of their meats (except fried items) are gluten-free, red and white BBQ sauces, and several sides. I’m not sure how careful they are with cross-contamination but I was pleased with the options and the smoked chicken is awesome.

They had a separate gluten free menu. All of the meats and sauces are gluten free, as are a portion of the sides. The food was delicious!

All of the meat is gluten free and I verified when I phone in our order. However, when I checked the to go boxes in the car, there was cornbread in each box. 🤦🏽‍♀ I walked back inside and explained we couldn’t eat any of the meat because the bread was in the same container and the hostess was completely irritated. I made the assumption that they would only give me gluten free food but I suppose I should’ve been even more specific. The food was tasty, not the best bbq I’ve had but I’m from Texas and have high bbq standards! The coleslaw was not my favorite.

At first I was impressed to hear they had a gluten free menu but then I saw it and I was no longer thrilled. The list basically said that all the meats were safe and listed a handful of sides that were safe. It was a little frustrating because you had to us the regular menu to navigate the gluten free menu. Out of curiosity I asked about their fried fish and chicken, (keep in mind the gf menu said all meats are safe) and when the waitress came back she said it was not safe. So I placed my order and everything was going okay when my plate came back with gluten free food with CORN BREAD ON TOP! I’m new to my allergy so I just handed my corn bread to my boyfriend and ate like nothing happened. It turns out that for me even the crumbs on my plate were enough to make me feel sick. I am very unimpressed with Moe’s barbecue for how they handled my allergy. The waitress and kitchen made no note of the allergy and contaminated my food. The lesson here for me would be that this is unacceptable, and I should have sent it back.

The food I was able to get was basically just meat and a side there were not gluten free buns or bread and they were not careful about my allergy.

Waitress and kitchen made no note of allergy and were not careful at all.

Went there for lunch today. I asked for the GF menu. I thought I saw corn bread on that menu. So I ordered the chicken wings, slaw, potato salad and the corn bread. Well... somehow I had a moment of insanity or wishful thinking not sure which was responsible but the corn bread is NOT gluten free. The lady that took my order, actually checked with the kitchen staff prior to serving my food. When she brought my food she let me know the corn bread was not GF at all. She said she did it because she didn't want me being sick. What a tremendous act of kindness to double check saving me from being ill. Btw, the chicken wings are some of the best I've ever had. My husband had the ribs and those were delicious too. All of the meats are GF. Not very fancy but a great place to eat.

The meat is all gluten free*, except fried shrimp and fried catfish. Slaw is gluten free (apple cider vinegar based). Knowledgeable staff that was willing to answer my questions, including obnoxious recipe specific questions. *looks like their spices are not certified gluten free and there is plenty of bread around for cross contamination

The pulled chicken was delicious and moist. All BBQ options are GF, many of the sides are GF. No GF bread but the platters are generous. Reasonable pricing.

Well I wanted to believe, but as another rater said, even after a whole conversation and an order of gluten-free the ribs came w cornbread on top.

There is a high degree of carelessness here... sad because they have good music, but the food is below average once you get past the gluten ignorance

Good food and the majority of the menu was gluten free, however our platters came with large slices of cornbread on them (not GF) which was appropriate because we have some non-gluten free people in our group, but it made those of us with celiac nervous. I recommend specifically requesting no bread.

The cashier was very welcoming and she seemed to understand we were having a gluten free meal, but our ribs came to the table with a piece of bread on them!!!! We told the boy who brought them and he seemed to be out of the loop since he knew nothing at all. Very disappointed and frustrated.

Amazing food. So worth it. You get a good portion for the price. They have a gluten free menu at the front register, you just have to ask. All their meats are gluten free and delicious. I personally tried the pulled pork, ribs, and chicken wings and all were excellent. I will definitely be back to try more.

They always told me their meats were gluten free (i have the intolerance), until I told them my daughter (6) had Celiac. That’s when I learned learned the wings are supposed to be gf, but they cross-contaminate the fryer. It is inconsistent because it depends on who you talk to. That makes it unsafe for Celiac.

I am celiac and eat here at least once, sometimes twice a week while on vacation. I’ve done this several years now and never gotten sick. The staff seems knowledgable about allergens and gluten. The meats and sauce are gluten free, you have to ask about the sides. They can even make sides gluten free (like not adding the topping to the sweet potato casserole). And the sides are too die for. I’ve had the lima beans, collard greens, sweet potato casserole (w/o topping) and they were just amazing - tasted like my grandmother made them - made from fresh ingredients and flavorful - very indulgent! We usually do this as take out, but you can eat inside. Very casual and reasonably priced. Convenient location to Pawleys and to Litchfield.

The GF menu is limited, but exists! All of their meats are safe, and they keep several GF side options. Keep in mind their housemade chips aren't included and I assume it's because they don't keep a dedicated fryer. But definitely the place to go if you're craving bbq!

I was delighted to find this place through this app while traveling. I called ahead and spoke to the manager. He told me all their meats were gluten free and some of their sides. Upon arrival I spoke again with the one taking our order and she assured me that the smoked turkey and slaw was gluten free. They had some sides that aren’t on the menu but were specials for today, one being sweet potato casserole. I rarely can have this because people think that it needs flour in it to make it good. I was so very delighted with my meal at this local restaurant. When I’m Mobile again I will certainly eat here again.
