Ate here one night because everything else was packed. Long line and small kitchen space had me concerned but overall I had no issues. Staff member who prepped my bowl changed gloves and took the right precautions to prevent cross contact. Given the small space, I’d avoid if possible and treat as a last resort. Those who are more sensitive may have issues here.
They did a great job. They changed gloves and gave us containers with lids and they were very careful. We only had two choices a bowl or a salad.
Our family loves Moe’s, and our local Moe’s was great. This location, however, was awful. They huffed and puffed and were visibly agitated that I asked for new, untouched meat and vegetables to avoid cross contamination for my Celiac daughter (our location does this happily for us). They argued that they are very careful and that there isn’t contamination - as I watched them make someone else’s flour burrito and the spoon touched the tortilla more than once. My daughter was humiliated as they made her feel like a nuisance. Would never recommend this location to someone needing gluten free options - and wouldn’t recommend it ever due to its poor customer service.
Hard shell Tacos are GF but ask for GF shells. They have an allergen chart on the counter taped to the side you can read before ordering. Most items are GF. If you explain you are celiac they are careful. So cross contact is possible, but if you tell them, much less likely. The bowls are probably the best bet and value. I had chicken and steak and no issues. I also had 3 hard shell Tacos and no issues. Do not eat the chips and salsa. No dedicated fryer for those, and are flagged on the allergen chart. For a quick, tasty, filling meal, I do recommend them. Soy sensitive items are more abundant than GF so keep that in mind if soy is a big issue for you.
Employees not knowledgeable about gluten allergy. They were willing to change gloves after I asked but then offered toppings and items containing gluten such as a tortilla or chips with the bowl despite me mentioning 3 separate times that I was celiac and couldn’t eat any gluten. They were not knowledgeable about cross contamination and couldn’t answer my questions. Within a few hours I knew there was gluten in what they had prepared despite their claims that it was gluten free and safe for celiac.
This place is a Godsend in the gluten-free wasteland that is the Vegas airport. It’s similar to Chipotle, and possesses similar cross-contamination risks. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with a serious allergy, but if you’re fine with places like Chipotle you should be fine here.
Blech. The only option we had time for. They did change gloves at my request as they use their hands for a lot of the toppings on the bowl I ordered. I made sure to take Gluten Digest. The chicken was pretty poor quality it seems. I didn’t eat it all. Way below Chipotle in quality and service.
