For context: I stayed at the Gaylord Palms this week for a convention and was very disappointed at the gluten free options for restaurants, despite being told by the front desk that all their restaurants had gluten free options and just to let them know that. Two of the resort restaurants - Sandbar and Wreckers both had items listed on their menu as ‘gluten friendly’ which is a red flag to start. Sandbar’s only GF items were chips and salsa and rainbow ice. When I went to Wreckers my first question before ordering was if their fryer was gluten free and the person had no idea. Needless to say I didn’t eat there. Given that the closest safe restaurant was a couple of miles away I decided to see if the other resort restaurants which had very few, years old reviews could save me from the granola bar in my room yet again. Moor was that place. I called them in advance to be sure, asking them about cross contamination and they knew what that was(yay) and said they could accommodate that. When I booked I was also able to note that I had food allergies - I’m also allergic to dairy but nowhere near as bad as gluten. They have the ‘gluten friendly’ items marked on the menu and when I spoke with the server she was enthusiastic about helping me. I got the steak and she offered to swap out the mash for fries because it had dairy. I asked about the fryer being gluten free dedicated and she wasn’t sure so went and checked with the chef directly. She also noted that although it wasn’t marked on the menu as gf that the seafood dish that my companion ordered was gf without the bread and offered to bring the bread out on the side so I could try it if I wanted too. The food was delicious and no sickness! Kudos to Moor for their delicious food and wonderful service!
