Attended a hotel-catered event in a hotel ballroom. I had previewed the menu so just asked the waiters pointed questions about the way the food was cooked or ingredients used. I did not mention being celiac, just said I had a “food allergy”. They were gracious enough to provide a plated entree without the rice which was cooked in chicken broth. By dessert, one of the waiters had figured it out and brought me a plated dessert without the gluten-containing ingredients!
I really appreciated their willingness to work with me despite it being a pre-determined menu. They were very gracious about it. Also, I wasn’t glutened! Which means I didn’t miss anything, and neither did they.
