I made a pilgrimage here for the promise of a separate gluten-free menu, and I was disappointed to learn that wasn't the case. It was the same game at every sushi place: order carefully (nothing with any soy-based sauce, nothing tempura, and no imitation crab), and specify the restriction so they know what to do. They brought me GF soy sauce which was nice, but I didn't need it for what I ordered. They said that their solution for "gluten free" is to just not use any sauce. I can get limited selection for too much money anywhere, so why go here? If they had GF eel sauce or other GF sauces or GF miso soup or anything like that, then we'd have a place worth the trek, but this wasn't worth it for me.
Before I had to go Gluten Free I considered Nagao Sushi the best Sushi restaurant on the West Side. Now that I have to be Gluten Free I appreciate the restaurant even more. Nagao really understands how to cater to Gluten Free needs and I never enjoyed a meal more.
