I have always had good experiences with Nando's, wherever I go. I have eaten in Nando's in Chelmsford, Lincoln, Nottingham and London. It's a reliable restaurant to have a good and safe meal. Meals come with a gluten free flag if you specify that it is an "allergy order" when ordering. They then ask what allergy and if you're coeliac. I have not ever felt ill after going and I usually have quite severe reactions to gluten, so I trust Nando's a lot now.
Yes
I specified my requirements when seated. Was given an ipad to search what I'd like and check allergens. Lots of choice. Ordered at till so manager could monitor. Came with an 'allergy' flag so I knew it was mine. My OH ordered garlic bread. Server kept it separate and away from my side of table.

I’ve been going to Nando’s for years and have never specifically noticed feeling ill afterwards. However, the last time I ate there, they accidentally served me garlic bread (when I had put the order through as gluten allergy order). The waitress took the garlic bread off the plate but didn’t realise I couldn’t have the rest of it due to cross contact. She was happy to help when I explained how sensitive I was even to crumbs, and got me a completely new meal, but it did plant seeds of doubt in my mind. The next time we went into Nando’s, we were about to order my usual gluten free meal, but the employee on the till asked if I was a Coeliac (as he was on himself), and after saying that I was, he advised against ordering the chicken, as they cook the garlic bread on the same grill! I believe they wipe the grill down, but this was enough to put me off going there again. It may differ at different restaurants but I’m not sure it’s worth the risk.
