Rice and entrees all gluten free. The korma and the tikka masala are excellent!
Wish we bought more! Tried the mini meal- with rice and chicken tikka masala. Wasn’t sure how Indian food would sit in the stomach, especially after a recent GI episode. But wow. That chicken was so silky and so delicious and the spices were so balanced, I wish we had bought more food here! And most importantly - no gluten reaction, and no GI aggravation!!
Saw other 5-star reviews so I checked it out for lunch. Food tasted good and menu has GF options marked. Service was efficient and prices were reasonable (~$12 per box). I did experience some symptoms after. Slight stomach ache, bloating, and a few trips to the bathroom. Not sure if it was gluten or something else. The place is small and there was only 1 guy, so maybe some accidental cross-contamination? I saw there were samosas offered in addition to the naan bread. Either way, I don’t think I’ll come back just to play it safe.
Excellent experience. Waiter assured me that gluten-free offerings were safe for those with an intolerance. Bc I couldn’t have the bread that typically comes with the entree (which was in a separate section than the g-f food), I was able to pick a veggie instead. Food tasted great and I wasn’t ill afterward.
This is another stand within the Reading Market and (maybe) coincidentally across the other GF option [Fox & Sons corn dogs +(vegetarian + vegan options]. All the platter food is GF. The non GF items are in a separate area. The servers are nice and the food was yummy. I got the veggie platter and really enjoyed it. One of my vegetables was on the spicy side, which I loved. However, if you are sensitive to heat/spice please get recommendations from the server. Also, like most other shops you need to try to find a table to eat. No negative reaction.
Next time I'm in Philly, I'll definitely pay them a visit. This was a solid option for us - we wanted to try some more formal eating establishments, but many were closed July 1-5 for the holiday (Pure Fare, Sazon, El Rey), so I was able to rely on Nanee's.
Delicious food! I was able to eat a delicious gf vegetarian platter; my husband enjoyed a platter with Chicken Masala. Food was well- seasoned and the Mango Lassi (a yogurt drink) was outstanding.
This place was amazing! Courteous and knowledgeable staff gave me confidence they were serving GF food. Being at Reading Terminal Market, everyone in my group got food from different spots -- and then they all ended up asking for bites of mine from Nanee's! Next time I'm in Center city at lunch, I'll be eating here!
Very good Indian food, they not only Gluten Free but vegan and halal food as well. Almost everything is Gluten Free except the Naan (bread) and Samosas (puff pastry type croissants stuffed with meats). The Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Kabob platters were both delicious, we also ordered the chickpea and spinach sides. The Masala had a bit of kick, but the Spinach side started out mild and ended up way too hot for me. I would definitely return for the Masala and chickpeas again!
