Simply heaven. Dedicated GF bakery and cafe. Rustic loaves, baguette, great sweet treats and sandwiches. And a totally unexpected AMAZING pizza. Stands up to not GF slices all on its own.
I’m am a sensitive celiac and can’t say enough about how delicious this place is! I loved their chocolate chip muffin, Oreo pie like thing (2 cookies with frosting in between), and cinnamon rolls. The slice of pizza was fabulous! The crust very different than any I’ve had before. There’s nothing more frustrating than being sick on vacation, and I was glad this place was totally safe. My non-gluten free husband even enjoyed his peach scone.
Pizza slices are soooo good! Bread is amazing too.
Love this place. Had pizza today-so good!! Great food great service!
Very friendly people and of course completely safe for Celiacs! Baked goods and lunch options are delicious! A must-stop in Portland.
I tried a few different things since I was passing through. They had sold out of some things when I arrived for a late lunch, so get there early for best selection. Everything I had was tasty.
It was nice to have so many options. I had the cheddar biscuit sandwich which was good.
Very good! They made me so happy. So safe for a celiac.
Veg options. We had a vegan muffin which was just ok. We regretfully didn't try the bagels. We also got the breakfast biscuit and French toast. Biscuit sandwich was the crowd favorite and the French toast not so much. Coffee was good too. There are plenty of options and it's a nice sized space for groups to have breakfast, brunch or lunch. I will definitely visit them again next time I'm in Portland.
Delicious baked goods. We loved the coffee cake and cinnamon rolls. Best gf bagels we have ever had. Liked it so much stopped back by for lunch and tried their delicious pizza. Very friendly service!
Great customer service - super light cupcakes!!! Not overly sugary but super moist and delicious cupcakes.
100% gf. Breakfast biscuit is delicious. Everything bagel was a little hard
Delicious cookies, varied menu. Taking a star off because I agree with some of the other reviews that the customer service is lacking, and the bathroom was pretty dirty.
First day in Portland we made a stop here. I had a cinnamon roll which was delicious and pizza, very thin crust and the perfect consistency. We ended up coming back later to get a challah to go, which was great. I'm very sensitive celiac over here and I love this place is totally safe.
Great bagels, they were dense with a nice chew! Other notables, from today, their morning glory muffin, cinnamon roll, lemon yogurt cake, and Brazilian cheese bread. Definitely coming back for more...
I have Celiac and I absolutely love this place! The food is really good. I will definitely be back!
Best gluten free cupcakes! I also had their bread and it was pretty yummy too
Food is fantastic. Have tried cinnamon rolls, baguette, rolls, French onion soup, cupcakes, and pizza and all were the best gluten-free I've tasted in Portland. I only gave four stars though because everything is pretty pricey.
They have the best gf BAGELS.
Very good! Had an egg breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, and I hope to make it back for another. Definitely celiac safe!
Best GF bagels ever! Wish we had a place like this at home in Florida! I'll be taking a dozen home with me though. ;) I have to be honest, we hit 3 other GF bakeries while in town and this cinnamon roll did not even come close to the others - it was much drier, but the cream cheese brownie was excellent. Overall still totally 5 stars!
I went here for breakfast and it was amazing. I'm the only person in my family who has celiac. It's great that this place is dedicated gluten free. Makes for no possibility of cross contamination. The rest of my family all agreed that it was the best breakfast we've had all week. I had a bagel and cream cheese(plain bagel) as well as a cinnamon roll. The egg sandwiches are good as well. Whatever you get, it's gonna be great.
Let me start with...oh, that bagel!!! Incredable, just like I remember!! Service was great!!! Very friendly. We ordered..an everything bagel, potato pancakes, mushroom gravy and biscuits, & sausage patty. I would highly recommend this place!!!!
Great Bagels!!! Mmmmmmm Best gluten free bagel I've ever had. Dedicated facility- no outside food allowed to keep out contamination. Very friendly staff. I wish they could ship their bagels to So Cal!
Best GF bagel I have had since being diagnosed celiac! I took 4 home with me and sad I don't live closer!
Best gluten free bread in the NW!
So many great things here. Great Flatbreas and pizza for lunch. Good cupcakes and bagels and cookies.
5 stars for being gluten free and delicious. 1 star for having the rudest customer service. I work 3 blocks from New Cascadia but I avoid it, because you never know when the door will get slammed in your face...literally.
I tried a slice of blue cheese and pear which had a nice consistency but had so much blue cheese all other flavors were lost and I actually didn't finish the slice (good thing others with me enjoy pure blue cheese). The thin crust pizza had a very different, but also very good consistency and hit the spot. I'd go back for one of those!
Had amazing French toast made with the cinnamon raisin bread, without the bananas and walnuts because I'm allergic. The everything bagel was also good!
Best gluten free food iv had! Amazing bagels and cinnamon rolls. Also it's not over priced like a lot of places are! Highly recommend this place:)
Best baguette-it was even really good the next day. Best texture we've had since going GF. And just really good texture period. They should teach every other GF bakery.
Absolutely Celiac safe. Absolutely delicious. My favorite is probably the Brazilian cheese bread. The best gluten free food ever! ( except for the stuff my mom makes) Update: I now can't eat tomatoes, and they are so awesome that they made me a special tomato free pizza!!! That is how awesomely nice they are! Second update: Our friend is filming a documentary about kids with food allergies. He wanted to film us going into a bakery and asking questions about what was in the foods. They were very nice and welcoming for us to do it. Again, they are probably my favorite bakery the city of Portland!
Excellent Gluten free bakery! Bread, pastry, sandwiches, pizza, bagels all yummy and most of all great texture and not too sweet:)
New Cascadia Traditional Bakery (1700 SE 6th Avenue) is a dedicated gluten-free bakery located in the SE neighborhood of Portland. Situated on a somewhat industrial street, New Cascadia is well worth the visit. Each day, the bakery makes at least five different gluten-free breads including multigrain and sourdough with challah on Fridays. They also sell popular treats such as scones, cupcakes, pies, muffins, galettes, cookies and bagels.
I love love this place!! The bagels are absolutely incredible, along with everything else I've tried there. My favorite go-to place!!
Absolutely the best gluten free baked goods around. Fresh bread. Hamburger buns. Cupcakes. Everything is amazing.
Awesome lunch, bread and desserts!
Best GF bagel yet!
My favorite gluten free bakery in town! Celiac approved!
Everything!!! everything is amazing!!
Absolutely delish! Had breakfast and lunch there today. Their breads are incredible.
Best gluten free cupcake EVER!
So wonderful and yummy. To have everything GF and hemp milk is such a treat!
So wonderful. I can eat everything here. everything is yummy. Favorites include the sourdough bread , chicken pizza , cookies strawberry cornbread. Too many more....
Amazing! The pizza both thick and thin crust is incredible. The sour dough baguette is an exact replica of traditional sour dough. If you are in Portland, make a stop!
I got bread and bagels from the farms market and they were amazing!
Their new bread recipe is vastly superior to the old one - great slices for toast or sammies. I only wish they had more savory options, like the galettes, which are great. I find the sweet stuff too sweet. But I so appreciate having an excellent GF bakery on town!
The pizza and cupcakes are to DIE for!!! Don't take my word for it though!!! Ahhhh, missing it already!
the sandwiches are great, but the pastries are on the dry side.
