I use to enjoy making my once every couple months trips when this place use to be at its old location. I still enjoy eating here...but some of the quality in the food & service has changed. Stopped by today for lunch and I was served a sandwich (which costs $11) on stale bread. They did fix it. But I've worked in food service, that never should have left the kitchen.
New Day Gluten Free aims to be a cornerstone in the community creating a neighborhood atmosphere where customers feel comfortable and become instant regulars. We are sensitive to the often overlooked population of people diagnosed with celiac disease as well as food allergy sufferers. We aim to cater to their needs for easy access to clearly-labeled safe-to-eat packaged foods, and a dedicated gluten-free environment for dining.
New Day is the best example of a GF and allergy sensitive bakery and restaurant. Dedicated location. Fine for celiacs. And sometimes we have to suffer mediocre tasting food as a result of our condition. Thankfully not at New Day! Fresh and tasty!
Amazing gf. Pricey but delicious. This is one of the best dedicated gf places I have eaten at. Turkey club sandwich made with soft bread was delicious. Came with homemade chips ..also tasty! Butter cookies are so soft...yum! Cinnamon roll with frosting was $5. It was a bit hard. Haven’t tried to heat it up. Wished I lived close by.
Some items were definitely overpriced but we left with some great cookies, sugar, chocolate, and butter (7 total) for less than 10 bucks. I’m not a native so did not know the joy of a gooey butter cookie until we sampled one here. Now I’m trying to figure out how to make them at home.
Stop what you are doing and go to this place right now. I’ve been all over the country and this is the best GF cafe/bakery I’ve ever been to. Found it while on a business trip to St Louis, will be back. 100% safe and GF. They don’t even allow outside food! Love it.
Everything is gf! Tons of good baked goods as well. I was just visiting st. Louis so I was happy to get to participate in the "gooey butter"ness of the city. Also not expensive at all - so used to spending $5 for a gf cookie. 99 cents here!
Amazing. Totally gluten free. I’m Newly celiac and their Biscuits and Gravy are better than the ones I used to have. Chocolate cookies taste like brownies and stay moist all day. Pumpkin bread is tasty. Zucchini bread is a little dry but still tasty. So good.
All I can say is... OH.MY.GOODNESS! Do not miss this place. Celiac Heaven! Entire place is gluten-free. My girls were giddy as we walked in and eyeballs got giant at seeing all scrumptious bakery treats and menu for lunch. Few breakfast options + good offering of sandwiches on variety of homemade GF breads plus hot plates too. Started with breadsticks/marinara— YUM! 4 sandwiches and Mac n cheese all extremely good and the treats were delish! Also all affordable. Walked out with banana bread for breakfast. Rated our family’s best meal for everyone on a 4day tour of StL. Near Forest park/zoo for anyone trying to plan trip/meals. Thanks to owner for your courage in opening a fully GF cafe!
You won’t find a place with more gluten free options. The icing on the GF cake is that this place is DELICIOUS. Try the biscuits and gravy for breakfast or the macaroni and cheese with bacon for dinner. For dessert, the chocolate crinkle cookies are amazing. If you’re in STL, you have to try this place! I can’t count the times I’ve been here in the 5 years I’ve been gluten free. 😂
Completely gluten-free restaurant! I believe they are also nut-free, and they have many dairy-free and vegetarian options. It’s amazing to be able to eat everything on the menu!!! Can’t speak highly enough about the staff, experience, and food.
New Day is simply the BEST restaurant we have ever found for my wife. We live in a much bigger city than St. Louis, but New Day is the only dedicated facility we’ve found that offers substantial and delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert foods. We’ll be ordering from their online menu to have items shipped to us!
I visited for the first time yesterday, two months after my celiac diagnosis. It was so comforting to find a place that is 100% safe. I had the biscuits and gravy, which were delicious! The gravy tasted better than any I’ve EVER had in a restaurant. You could tell the biscuits were gf (crispy around the edges, kinda bland) but the gravy more than made up for it. My father has the pancakes which were disappointing. The pancakes themselves were sour. And they mix agave nectar with pure maple syrup till it no longer tastes like syrup. I ordered a muffin to go. I’ll definitely be back to this celiac safe zone!
