Not a good place for celiacs!!
I was excited to eat here after seeing the good reviews and looking at the gluten free menu; however, after asking the waiter if the gluten free food was prepared in a separate area of the kitchen, she looked at me like I was crazy and said "no..." I asked what the difference was between how normal versus gluten free was prepared and she said there was no difference.
I then asked to speak to the chef. He was very nice but explained that since the kitchen is so small, they do not have a separate place to prepare gluten free. He said that some meals just naturally do not have gluten in them, but cross contamination is a risk. Some of the meals labeled "gluten free" pass through a fryer with normal flour! I explained that I am very sensitive, and he told me my best bet would be to just get a salad. I was afraid to add meat to it (he wasn't confident that the cutting boards they use to cut meat wouldn't have gluten on them), so I ended up with just a normal salad that left me hungry after.
I am not sure if they recently got new staff, but with my experience the staff was not knowledgable about celiac disease/gluten and they did not take the proper precautions to prevent cross contamination.
If you want to feel safe, check out Mon Ami Gabi. Delicious and some of the most knowledgable staff I've ever come across!
