We had an excellent meal here. They have an extensive gluten free menu and the food was delicious!
Waitress ignored us and within 10 minutes I had symptoms of being glutened. I had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich and fries. The food tasted great. I don't know where the gluten was but it was enough to kick in my body responses.

I usually eat here at least once per month and typically have a good meal. That being said the service quality at this particular location definitely seems to be taking a downward turn as of late. This is both from the perspective of awareness of food allergies as well as engagement with the waiter/waitress. If you eat here stay vigilant and make sure you are abundantly clear on your order.
Separate gluten free menu. Gluten free fryer. Have been here many times without any issues.
Based on the menu, I was very excited to eat here. I even had French fries! However, 2 people in my party got sick after eating here (we both have celiac disease). I cannot recommend anyone eats here if they have Celiac.

I have had 3 experiences at Nitty Gritty and for the first 2 I was fine. I had a burger in a GF bun, and fries all 3 times. The init thing different the last time was I added ranch dressing for my fries. Server said dressing is gf but didn’t not go back and check. I was sick before we left the restaurant. Not sure what it was, but the meal was great.
Very good food and they truly understood the importance of providing gluten free safe conditions! I was very pleased and felt very safe!

Many gluten free options. Dedicated GF and Vegan menu. Good knowledge of gluten free options from staff. Very family friendly. Burgers were great. Dedicated GF fryer. Definitely will be back.
From a celiac employee— Ask for the gluten free menu guide! We have a dedicated fryer for fries, tortilla chips, and gf breaded chicken (make sure to specify with your waitress)! We carry Udi’s buns, Red Bridge gf beer, as well as several ciders.
Great GF menu including a dedicated GF frier - fries and a GF fried chicken sandwich! They even have breakfast options including GF breakfast potatoes. Good selection of vegan choices as well. Staff have been knowledgeable about celiac. This is one of my regular restaurants. I’ve never gotten sick.
Great gluten free fried chicken sandwich!! Sensitive celiac and never felt sick. Staff was knowledgeable and fun atmosphere. Definitely a must on your birthday!
Fun place! knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination. Huge yummy salads, dedicated fryer for (safe) fried chicken, tortilla chips and fries. Also have dedicated blender for milkshakes.

This review is actual for the Middleton location they don’t have an option on this app for NG Middleton. Had no idea that this very popular restaurant had a gluten free menu. Not only is it gluten free but they had an entire celiac friendly dedicated kitchen, which is also stated on their menu. They a use soy bean oil fryer and a grill separate from where they prepare other food and to avoid cross contamination. I was incredibly excited to see how many options were available as well. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich (Udi bun) and fries, it was delicious. Also great service and accommodating staff. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Dedicated fryer! Love their french fries here. They take precaution for allergies and the staff is all knowledgeable. I love eating here knowing ill be safe. Many options to choose from!
My celiac son and I ate here with non-Celiac family. Food was delicious. Please note: you have to ask to have tortilla chips fried in gluten free fryer but the nachos are delicious!
We called ahead and were connected directly to the chef. He explained their process to avoid cross contamination (separate cutting board, separate utensils and knives, separate grill area, dedicated gf fryer, hand washing protocol, etc). Our server asked a lot of questions to make sure everything was how we wanted it and safe. My son ate there with no issues and the food was wonderful. We will definitely go back.
