Do not bother to get a gluten-free cupcake here. I had to see what all the NORA fuss was about. The 50 Shades of Chocolate cupcake that I bought here was not fresh and it came out of the refrigerator. The cupcake had very little flavor and was dry. The frosting was delicious. It may have been totally different if it was consumed the day it was made but this was not the case. There was another flavor cupcake that was also in the refrigerator and I asked the woman who waited on me which one was the freshest and she said the chocolate one.

To ad insult to injury, the normal price for Nora's cupcakes is $4.95 which is a premium price. When the sale was made for my cupcake it was over $6 so I asked what the deal was. She said the gluten-free cupcakes are $6.00, which is not displayed anywhere. I should have trusted my gut and walked out at that moment but didn't. Five dollars is a crazy price for a cupcake, six dollars is just a ludicrous price for a cupcake. If you can't make a handsome profit selling $5 gluten-free cupcakes, then don't bother. It is the lack of taste and the high price that gives gluten-free eating a bad reputation.

To contrast this experience, I had a fresh chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting today at Dee's in Glastonbury and it was delicious. It melted in my mouth and I want another one. It was $4.00, which is still steep for a treat (so don't get any ideas Dee on raising your prices again).
