The staff was very accommodating, even had delicious gluten free starter bread! Wide variety of food on their GF menu, including pastas that tasted like regular pasta. Passionate about allergies and very knowledgeable about celiacs. Would recommend to anyone gluten free or not, very good experience!
The staff was so knowledgeable about gluten free options and the GF menu was extensive. Had the lettuce wraps, clam chowder and grilled scallops. Phenomenal food. Such a great experience.
Huge gluten free menu! Gluten free bread servers very knowledgeable about celiac. I have full blown celiac and did not get sick from eating there. I would definitely go back !
Staff was kind and knowledgeable about Celiacs and gf options but at the end of the night I was glutened :( wonderful experience in the restaurant but probably not going back for a while.
Great gluten free menu with a lot of option and also give you gluten free bread to start!
Went there for Mother's Day with my Family. I told them I had celiac and waitress was on top of it, she informed manager and cook staff. I asked for gluten-free bread and within minutes, a different server came over and put bread on the table stating "here is your gluten-free bread". It was regular bread....... waitress and Manager both apologized but that doesn't fix the problem ......will never go back. Besides all that, Service was awful!
Very good! The server asked as soon as we sat down if there were any food allergies. She informed us about a gluten free menu. Lots of options! We got a ton of gluten free bread that was bomb.com! So soft and fluffy!
GLUTENED! We have the Nima and tested the Gluten Free Jambalaya. Positive for gluten! Terrible service to boot! Will never be going back! BEWARE!
Been there a few times. Last time, my wife who has Celiac got violently sick from gluten.
The one time I ate here, the gluten free bread on my sandwich crumbled like dust and they gave me a side of regular bread with my gluten free order.
Best GF local restaurant hands down! Our group ordered 2 Jambalaya's and mine came out as GF-prepared. I will be going to NYA Joe's often.
Great service and the best GF bread! I highly recommend it. We had the chicken caprese and the steak wedge--both delicious.
Great gluten free bread and oil before meal. Vet extensive menu. Celiac friendly
Fantastic restaurant with superb service, and really great gluten-free options. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about Celiac, and made us feel at home. We will be back!
They always go above and beyond!
Food was great, staff seems knowledgable, love the gluten free bread they give you before the meal!!!! There is a separate gluten free menu with a decent amount of options. I have never had any issues at any of their locations.
I was really excited to eat here when I saw 5 stars from people. Looked at the menu and I was even more excited! I was certainly not disappointed. My own gluten free bread, gluten free rolls and gluten free carrot cake!!
I went to the Kentland's location of Not Your Average Joe's and fell in love! They not only have a gluten free menu, but they also bring out a GF bread basket when you first sit down with this amazing garlic butter dip. I ordered the gluten free cheeseburger and asked if I could have french fries with it. It's not on their menu, but they offered to bake the french fries for me so as to not fry them and contaminate them in any way. It took longer and they weren't ask crispy, but I enjoyed them! Their food is amazing and you also get a free meal and dessert for your birthday if you sign up for their members club email. It's now my favorite restaurant!
A serious commitment to great-tasting gluten-free food. Friendly staff $ great service, too! Highly recommended.
They take great care in preparing GF meals.
Food was great. Service was good too. Had the scallop appetizer which was excellent. Ordered the house salad in the small size. They delivered the large size. Just so much iceberg lettuce one person can it. Ranch dressing is the "real" deal. I will be back. Gotta try the burgers on gluten free bun.
Great GF menu and wonderful GF rolls.
Very nice menu. Great service. Great quality!
NYAJ is great. they work hard to accommodate my son's gluten allergy and will make him things not on the menu such as grilled cheese. we go a lot because of their knowledge of food allergies.
Great place, but can get very busy at times especially on weekends. They have a pretty large gluten free menu. They will also bring out dipping sauce with gluten free bread. The food is fantastic. The waitress we had was very nice and knowledgeable about gluten free. They also have gluten free pasta.
I’ve seen great reviews about this restaurant, but I honestly wasn’t impressed. I don’t think the gluten free menu was very big. They advertised as having gluten free chicken parmesan, but all it consisted of was chicken with some melted cheese on top. The food was bland and lacked flavor. There are better places than this to go for gf dining.
OMG the Gluten Free bread is SO yummy! So soft, delicious and spongy... not dry and crumbly like most GF bread. The GF Chicken Piccata was Awesome!! They have a separate GF menu (orange) with lots of GF options... even Dessert! I posted photos but not sure where they went.
Appetizers, many meal selections and dessert options all gluten free. Also GF bread and dipping oil/parm cheese at the table. Waiter was very knowledgeable. Not everyone at our table ordered GF. Manager brought out all GF dishes to ensure they were correct and not cross contaminated.
Soooooo good for celiac! We had the GF pasta 4-cheese with the sausage option. Didn’t get sick and it was good! lots, Lots, LOTS of options! A fantastic place which is cognizant of celiac and GF people!
Best GF experience ever! Very big GF friendly menu with GF knowledgeable and accommodating staff!
Joe’s has an extensive GF menu, GF bread and GF rolls (both caramelized onion), and GF pasta, however, depending on the wait staff and how busy it is, you need to be careful to ensure you meal is actually prepared GF. I have had a few instances where I have asked the staff who delivers my meal if it is both GF/DF and they were unsure about one or both allergens. Ultimately, an awesome menu but you need to be proactive about advocating for yourself.
It has been 3 months and I must say Joe’s has done an awesome job at redeeming themselves. I contacted the head office and they were wonderful at addressing the issue ( see below). I have eaten there 4 times since June. They put in the computer that I need to speak to the manager before ordering due to gluten. The manager makes sure the kitchen is aware and then he brings the food out. I don’t know if there has been a change to the kitchen, but in the past 8 months, I have had issues with cross contamination. Twice with barley in my food, which they said was due to a cutting board to close to the gluten food, and tonight I found a piece of pasta in my green beans. The manager said chances were that it was regular pasta. I loved this place and trusted them. Love the place! They actually have a menu that has quite a few choices. They seem to understand about celiac and gluten intolerance. Each time my meal was brought out separately.
An entire separate menu dedicated to people with gluten allergy/intolerance. I felt so welcome! They even have gluten free bread to snack on. My waitress was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and gluten in general.
This place is fantastic!! There is an entire Gluten Free Menu. A full menu not just salads or burgers! Chicken parm, scallops, lots of G F pasta plus lots of good sides plus desserts not just ice cream. Staff is knowledgeable about GF. And kitchen understands cross contamination. Very good will come again. Fresh food nothing canned. Prices are good considering the large portions. Will not be disappointed
My daughter, mother and myself are wheat and gluten sensitive. My daughter also has a dairy allergy. We received Excellent service. The staff was very accommodating. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. This was the best GF meal we have had eating out in a long time. Will be returning here soon.
Amazing! Our waitress was so accommodating when she found out that I was the GF one out of our party of 6. She brought me GF bread to start and even asked if I needed separate dipping oil. When I ordered she verified that it was gluten free. They even had a separate person drop off my meal and he verified again it was gluten free. I’ve never been out to eat and felt so normal! Such a great experience!
Love this place! And, the food is yummy. The carrot cake is amazing.
I've been here twice this spring and have unfortunately had cross-contamination symptoms both times. The first time I visited, my GF bread was delivered with obvious residue from the regular onion bread on the base of the roll - it seems like they may not know to change their gloves. The second visit, I opted to forgo the bread, but felt mildly ill 24-48 hours later, which is my usual response to cross contamination. I'm extremely sensitive, so those who are not may have better luck!!
The waiter brought me warm spongy delicious gluten-free buns and Parmesan dipping sauce - and I was in heaven! That alone was enough - so delicious! Then my hamburger in a gluten-free bun came, and I was so happy to enjoy that rare treat. The staff are very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They told me the fries are not gluten-free so that was a disappointment - I hope they can change that in future. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! I’ll definitely go back!
Incredibly celiac and allergy friendly. There are few celiac friendly restaurants in Woodbridge, but this is a safe place with knowledgeable staff. They have a large GF menu, and if you say you have celiac the manager/chef will probably come by or may even wait on you. Several good experiences. Did have one waitress once who was a little off her game since it was a very busy late night and slipped up with regular bread, but I checked before eating it since I’m careful, but it was a good reminder to be extra vigilant.
Amazing GF menu selection: appetizers, burfgers, pasta, dessert. Had a hard time choosing but went with 4 cheese pasta with added steak tips. Bread and dip were delicious.
We were excited to go here after reading the reviews but were sorely disappointed. The utensils and plates were dirty, our waters had floaters in them and my celiac daughter was ill right after she ate. She had the gf bread which a piece looked like it had some green mold on it (she didn’t eat it)and had a hamburger and fruit. Hamburger was not good and bun was average. Not impressed with serving staff either. Would not recommend d for celiacs.
Great food. This location in Silver Spring was a little chaotic. We had all the gluten free bread and cider and seafood pasta he could eat, but he was glutened and had a headache and issues within a couple of hours. No problems at other locations.
