They brought me warm gluten free bread to start and asked about cross contact. also their entire menu is very gluten friendly. i got the grilled cheese and tomato soup and they were able to make it in a separate part of the kitchen on the gf bun. i will 100% be coming back
Would recemend, they first brought out gf rolls, AMAZING (and an oil, garlic, cheese and red pepper dip) I got the Mediterranean pizza on gf crust and I have a pretty severe gluten allergy and they told me that regular flatbread was cooked in the same oven but we read online it is fine if pizza is cooked in the same oven. Staff was very acknowledgeable, friendly, and I didn’t get sick.
I had a good experience here. I had a veggie burger without the fries, got mashed potatoes as the side instead and had no reaction. Burger came on gluten free bread. They even had GF house bread. Staff seemed knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination. I ate at the restaurant. Felt safe eating here.
As others have mentioned, there is a “gluten sensitive” menu. Kids had GF rolls with dipping sauce, GF Mac n cheese, and GF pasta with butter. All was good, but needed to add seasoning to the pasta with butter (ended up added the GF bread dipping sauce which was oil, garlic, Romano, and crushed red pepper).
This chain is no longer Gluten Free. They have lowered their menu to Gluten "Friendly".
We ordered a super crunch salad for some someone with Celiac in a take out order. Discovered a bread crouton in the salad. Manager informed us they do their best but can't guarantee GF. Received no compensation for inedible meal.
We had ordered a Supercrunch G-F salad* and noticed a cube of bread mixed in with the quinoa. In response to our concern, the regional manager said NYAJ cannot guarantee G-F and the menu now says “gluten sensitive,” no longer “gluten-free.” We have had more than one food safety issue with this restaurant.
*When ordering, we mentioned more than once that the customer has celiac disease. The receipt labelled the salad “G-S.”
One of the best GF restaurant experiences I have had. GF buns heated up with delicious olive oil based dip to begin with. I was given my own dip jar with the waiter saying ‘to avoid double dipping’ with my family who are not GF! Then breaded haddock (GF bread crumbs), mashed potatoes and broccoli. My family loved their food and we were given complimentary desert due to a delay in being seen when arriving - a GF carrot cake with caramel for me! Strongly recommend!!
huge gluten free menu. staff asked if I was gluten free when I asked for a table. the Jambalaya was really good.
Ok, ordered online, and my last two (gluten sensitive) orders came in a bag with full gluten bread. I was tempted to try it the first time, thinking they were being thoughtful. Nope! Just complete ignorance of education on the party of the staff. I ate there with my wife a year ago and they asked her if she wanted bread and she said yes. I asked if they had gluten-free bread and they said yes for a $1.50 extra, I said fine. They brought her bread first slid it in front of both of us and I was amazed at how much it looked like regular bread. It was regular bread, I ate it and I felt like sh*t for 24 hours. Then the guy came with my bread, (which was good). And he said, Oh! That's not gluten free bread! Luckily I am not a Celiac or I would have visited the hospital. But on the bright side, if you are a full celiac, the hospital is only 2 minutes away! :) Go to Burton's Grill in Sterling instead! They have square plates for gluten free meals, the gluten meals are on round plates. They are fully educated and can make almost any dish there gluten free in a separate area of the kitchen. The food is also twice as good. It's the only good gluten-free place within 30+ miles. #NorthernVirginiaSucks
