There are quite a few gf choices. We had chocolate cake and it was ok but not really good. Would not go back.
We were passing through Asheville a few days ago, and I picked up four different pastries. There were a lot of gf ones to pick from, and everything I got was good. They were really fresh, and I refrigerated them and ate them over the next four days.
The address here is incorrect - it is actually across the street.
The staff was very friendly and they had a lot of options in the case. They should relable it as "gluten sensitive." I would not recommend for celiac. It tasted good but I was extremely sick two hours after eating the peanut butter cake. I don't think I'll be eating peanut butter for awhile after vomiting it all up.
I have eaten here many, many times without a reaction (I have Celiac). Although the mix of items in the food case looks scary, their bakery must be doing safe handling, and they are always willing to pack GF items separately when we take food to go.
the pastries are SO good. we had the tiramisu and a berry dessert. i’m a severe celiac and did not get sick!
The first time we stopped in the cashier told us not to eat the GF pastries because they were cooked in a small kitchen and not safe for celiacs. However, the next day we found all the positive reviews from this app and decided to try. My daughter is a very reactive celiac and during our vacation, she tried multiple deserts and never got sick. Everything we tried was amazing!!
Wowwww! Gluten free pastries!!! I had tiramisu and I wanted to cry it was so good. My son had the peanut butter cake, also delicious. Coffee was amazing. My husband manages a bakery and thought the (gluten) eclair was the best he’d ever had. Something for everyone.
And no problems afterwards.
So many wonderful selections. I had a hard time picking from all the wonderful treats. Coffee was excellent too.
We Had several of the GF pastries. Each one better than the last. The items are in the same case as gluten items but, I had no issues and I am pretty reactive.
Selection!!!!!!! And even some vegan one allowing not to fear eggs and dairy which also make me sick.
So many delicious desserts and so gluten-free options! I’ve never had an issue with anything that I’ve tried. Their crème brûlée is my favorite. The are tarts cakes are delicious.
Oh my! I think we had almost everything during our stay and my husband with celiac ate here safely every time. Gf items sometimes next to gluten items, although the items were generally in paper wrappers offering some separation. So many truly delicious gf options!
Lots of unique GF cake options! The GF cakes are in the same case as gluten containing ones, so there is a cross contamination risk. Personally, I haven’t had an issue with any reaction.
Had a cookie and coffee cake. Both were delicious and no reaction.
They have amazing treats. I make sure to stop here every time I visit Asheville.
All of the gf desserts were clearly marked. There were more gf desserts in the case than not. Food looks absolutely delicious.
They had several gluten free options to choose from. All were clearly marked. I very much enjoyed the pumpkin roulade. Please note, the GF options do sit right next to the non-GF options in the case.
I asked questions concerning cross contact in the kitchen. The staff would not recommend due to the shared kitchen space. The gf options were mixed in the glass display case with the gluten containing .. I chose not to eat here, while my friends had dessert.
A lot of options! Almost everything was gluten free! Pies, cakes, cheesecakes, macarons, cookies, all kinds of things!
Stopped in while on a road trip. I tried the lemon roulade and it was very good. My son had a piece of cheesecake and my daughter had the espresso roulade. There are non GF options in the same case but I didn’t have any reaction. So many options it was hard to choice only one!
So many GF options I was so surprised. I could barely choose but I ended up with the lemon roulade and it was really good. I had a reaction later in the day though but I ate at the mellow mushroom before so it could've been from that. The GF deserts weren't separated and they didn't have any precautions like changing gloves or anything.
Over this week I’ve had the Lemon Roulade, the Lemon Bavarian, and the Rico Jancsi. All were delicious. The Lemon Roulade was SO tangy. I did see that the cookies seemed to be close to non-GF cookies, but the slices of cake were wrapped in the sides with more space.
Lots of options. Not overly sweet. Serving sizes are huge which sucked because I wanted to try so much. But lovely problem to have. Got the lemon roulade cake and a lemon cake with berries on top (can't remember what it was called). Preferred the roulade but both were tasty.
Bomber GF pastries. Come here, buy lots and share with your friends and family!
Everything is in the same case and even if it’s not touching anything non gluten free, they told me it could have touched something in the back. The workers said it’s not safe for people with celiac.
Everything tasted amazing, the GF stuff was clearly marked. I’m extremely sensitive to gluten and didn’t get sick
My daughter has celiac and she was able to try many desserts available and did not get sick. Such a great experience for her.
Everything is labeled! I liked that they options to pick from
They had more gluten free options than non-gluten free! Everything is clearly marked and separated by wax paper. We had the vanilla cheesecake, macaroons, carrot cake, and chocolate chip cookies. They were all so good we almost thought they were not gluten free. You must make this a stop if you are in Asheville!
At most recent visit, they reported that they plan to have more separation for GF preparation and display in their new facility. Fingers crossed because the taste was incredible. While I didn’t get sick, they could definitely step up their cross-contamination-mitigation game
Adorable little storefront downtown Asheville. There were many options of cakes, pies, cookies and pastries labeled gluten-free. Each was -partially wrapped in it's own parchment paper, but they were in a shared display case with glutinous items. The GF items were clearly marked, but were not in their own section (a regular slice of key lime pie might be next to a GF slice of coconut cake). They described that they do clean between cooking GF and regular baked goods, but they are in a shared kitchen.
Honestly, it'd been so long since I had delicious, gorgeous, varied baked goods in front of me, I decided to roll the dice. Typically I pass if there's this chance of cross-contamination. But the flesh is weak when vanilla cheesecake and carrot cake are on offer.
The server kindly put on clean gloves to serve my food. It was DIVINE. I cannot tell you. The best desserts I have had since my celiac diagnosis. I haven't gotten sick at all, so...
Will I be going back for a second slice of that cheesecake before I leave Asheville? Yes.
Will I be bringing some back to my family with celiac? Yes. Yes, I will.
I'll also be writing to the owner with a recommendation to sequester their GLORIOUS (I'm so serious- those desserts were made of sin and sugar) GF desserts away from their glutinous sisters. It would have made me feel that much safer.
Very delicious deserts!! About half the deserts are gluten free and delicious. There are CC issues due to GF and non GF deserts next to each other is the display case but I’ve never gotten sick. The macaroons are probably the safest option. Not for celiac but great for others.
