I have to change my review! Our second visit was a horror show. We ordered a gluten free BLT and it was horrible.🤮🤢 The bread was tiny and the used the end of the loaf. They just turned it backwards and thought we were idiots. The wife swears there must have been cross contamination. We asked if they had a dedicated fryer for the French fries and they swore that they did. Now I have my doubts. Avoid at all costs.

Celiac. I’ve eaten here numerous times, never got sick. They have a dedicated fryer for French fries and dedicated grill area.

Got very sick there two days ago off gf grilled cheese. They advertise a lot of gf items on their menu, but I believe there was cross contamination. No use in advertising gf items if the kitchen isn't taking precautions to prepare the food.

I had the gluten free French toast. It was delicious. Had not had French toast in a long time. My friend who is not gf had a Buffalo chicken wrap. She didn't like it. Said there wasn't any sauce on it and chicken was very dry. Did not sit well with her. Didn't know if it was that or the lettuce on it. Eventhough I felt it was expensive (15.95 for the French toast) I would go back again.

Placed an order with Old Westbury Diner for a turkey, bacon, and lettuce sandwich on gluten free bread. I clearly put in the comments section Gluten Free, Gluten Allergy, no tomato, no mayo ( to avoid cross contamination). When my order arrived I noticed that the sandwich bread looked different as I have ordered from here plenty of times. In addition they put tomato’s (another indicator that the person who made the order didn’t read the ticket). I called Old Westbury Diner and asked for a manager, he kept arguing with me that the sandwich was gluten free an that the bread was “whole wheat gluten free with grains”, I explained that I have never had this bread at the diner and it was always white in color. Instead of arguing with him I asked if he could bring me another sandwich with the white gluten free bread and take this sandwich back. He was very nasty and said no eat the sandwich it’s gluten free, I asked him “so your willing to loose a long time customer because you refuse to admit you sent me the wrong food?” He laughed and said “Yea bye ... click”. I would be very cautious to all those going to this diner to eat, the manager doesn’t care if you are given the wrong food and become very sick.

Very safe preparation and amazing GF pancakes! One of the few diners that actually does GF and there are so many choices!

Moved to Pittsburgh years ago and since then husband was diagnosed with celiac. Visiting Long Island and all he wanted was to go to a Diner. GREAT experience. Walked in, told host of celiac, assured us we were safe as his boss has celiac and they have a dedicated fryer and grill! No gf menu but was told everything on the menu can be made gf. Server was great. Gf meal was brought out separately. They know what they’re doing here. If I could I’d give it 6 stars.

One of the few diners with gluten-free options and a separate grill. The waiters have all been nice to me about having celiac and I haven’t gotten ill from the food. However, be sure to carefully check all your food. It’s definitely celiac-friendly but, for example, I ordered the pancakes and French toast on two occasions and it was served with some syrup. They couldn’t tell me whether the syrup was GF. Little things like that can be problematic, so just be cautious. Otherwise, the food is pretty good. I go here regularly.

I had the gluten free pancakes with blueberries inside! So delicious and the staff made sure to let the kitchen know that it was crucial everything was made gluten free. I didn’t get sick or feel bloated after.

Best gluten-free chocolate chip pancakes as per my 11 year old who has Celiac. Sweet potato fries were undercooked. Belgium waffle was fair. Service was great though, and friendly. Would go back.
I was excited to eat here after seeing all the positive reviews. Before ordering I spoke to my server and the manager, and they assured me they took celiacs seriously. A few hours later and I was incredibly ill. I definitely wouldn't recommend.
Amazing food. They use a separate fryer if you want French fries! I had a burger with fries and it was great. Service was good as well and the staff was knowledgeable.

We have eaten here several times...first few experiences were OK...then they messed up our order ...by including wheat items like onion rings on a gf burger...the last couple of times we were there. Scared to go back.
great food. the GF pancakes and toast tastefully great. we will be back
Amazing place!!!! The waitress was very nice and it is very Celiac Friendly. I had the gluten free pancakes and they were delicious, if you're in the area I definitely recommend this place to anybody with Celiac Disease.
Awesome GF Greek salad with chicken wrap
Food was great (gluten free wrap, gluten free kids mac and cheese, gluten free pancakes). Waiter was excellent! When I asked if the fries were safe (for Celiac disease) he not only said yes but explained it was in a separate frier and handled separately. He also took the time to check if the kids pudding was gluten free and when he found out it was not, he suggested gelatin instead and rattled off the ingredients to be sure it was safe. My kids and I had a great meal and feel safe about our celiac disease restrictions being addressed carefully.
