The "cooks" in the kitchen insisted that the whole wheat pasta was gluten free. I had to explain to the waitress that it was not and she insisted that the kitchen said it was. I again told her it wasn't it. Finally the manger came over and she apologized, made sure my meal was safe. Over all though I do not trust the Olive Garden.
They do not understand how to cook gluten free pasta. I have been there twice and each time my pasta is hard as a rock and tastes disgusting. I will NEVER go back to any Olive Garden again until they are more knowledgable on how to cook gf items.
Having CD I specifically asked the server if they had a GF menu. Bc he didn't know he went to ask & returned with a very disappointing response ...the head chef says no, we do not! I was with friends & we were celebrating someone's BD, so this was very awkward to say the least. So I ordered a salad wo croutons. When I inquired abt GF salad dressing, again... They had no knowledge if their SD was GF. Plain salad, no dressing for me! It wasn't until we were almost ready to leave that a manager came to see if our dining experience was enjoyable. When I explained my frustration, he apologized & explained that I had been misinformed. He even offered to store my personal SD in the kitchen next time I visited so I would always have a nice salad. This experience was very awkward & frustrating. I will not be back.
They have a small menu for gluten sensitivity however I have a high dairy sensitivity and they were not very accommodating. I've been eating nothing but meat, fish and salad my whole vacation and getting tired of it. I wanted shrimp but all they can do is oil and sherry wine which I really don't like. Plus I can't have too much oil or it upsets my stomach too much. I ended up eating my daughters grapes from her meal. I also asked if they had a fruit plate or some other option and all they were able to offer was more grapes and some strawberries from the bar. I'm very disappointed I wish there could of been a little more effort to accommodate my food allergies.
Very good!!! Been here multiple times and it never disappoints. I always get gluten free noodles with marinara sauce with shrimp or chicken. Both are delicious. I would give 5 stars if they made their chicken gnocchi soup gf. I have made gluten free gnocchi soup copy cat before and it wasn't to hard. I would be even be willing to pay extra. however if this isn't possible, which I do understand if it isn't, i wish they offered better gf salad dressing since their house salad is usually bland. I love olive garden and will definitely come here again. I have never gotten sick and it's one of my favorite Italian restaurants.
Never had a better knowledgeable waitress ever anywhere PERIOD.
Terrible service. The food is mediocre, at best and it made me sick. The idiot server dumped the tray of drinks all over my toddler! The only think they asked is if we wanted to move to another table. My kid is wet and cold, no thank you! The manager wouldn't show her face. Never again!
I became very sick after eating here. I was offered a gluten free soup which clearly was not after eating it. I would not recommend nor ever go back again. My pasta dish also was delivered as regular noodles and I had to ask if they were gluten free before they noticed. Those mistakes were convincing enough that they aren't considerate enough for celiac sensitive.
You have to request the gluten free menu, the menu is one sheet, prices aren't listed, the server said you just have to go by the prices on the main menu. They have GF pasta and the salad is the same minus the crotons. There is one soup and no dessert options and can't guarantee on mixed drinks. But more than I expected!
On my visit to this location, there were many many mistakes relating to our gluten free orders. Both meals were ordered gluten free with extensive discussion with the server and both were initially brought out with regular pasta. When we pointed this out, the employee told us 'no, that's what our gluten free pasta looks like'. I insisted that it did not match the company's description and requested they double check. After acknowledging the mistake, a new GF meal was brought out for my husband within 10 minutes but mine took another 1/2 hour and was amazingly yet again served with regular pasta. We sent it back again and requested they package the 3rd try to go. When I finally began to eat at home a few hours after we had been seated, I found broken pieces of regular linguini mixed in with the GF rotini, suggesting that they cooked it in the same water or used some similarly sloppy prep procedure. Once the manager became involved, they definitely made it right from a financial standpoint (basically comping our whole meal) but I wouldn't have chosen to trade a free meal for the rest of the experience. It's a fairly new location and perhaps they will get their act together eventually, but for now I would not recommend for anyone who experiences ill effects from consuming gluten.
Okay, the service here is fantastic but there's a catch. At this location anyways, they are Gluten Sensitive and NOT Gluten free. They do try hard but due to Cross contamination, I've gotten sent to the hospital 3 out of 5 visits and can no longer eat there. I even have tried it while taking the supplement Gluten Exe but still for sick. Just be cautious while eating here and if the current staff isn't familiar with their allergin menu then go else where.
I used to love Olive Garden and while I hate giving low ratings that aren't authentically deserved always, I do really care about the well being of people with celiac or just gluten intolerance. I have gone here for a few family things since being gluten free, and I'm also pescatarian and have dairy allergies as well. So I could have salad but I don't know as far as cross contamination the total safety of it. Definitely wouldn't be one of my recommendations.
I've been twice and the staff's lack of understanding of what gluten free means, makes me super uncomfortable eating here. When I asked for my gluten free chicken Parmesan the waitress asked if I wanted the chicken grilled or breaded. When I explained that I couldn't have flour so by proxy couldn't have bread, she asked if I needed the gluten free rotini with my gluten free chicken Parmesan.....Then she kept trying to give me croutons for my salad. I felt like I was playing Russian roulette with my stomach and considering that it takes four days for me to feel better once I've been introduced to gluten, I'm just not willing to put my health in the wait staff's hands. And least of all, the gluten free rotini isn't that great. I can get better tasting gf pasta from the grocery store at a better price at that.
I have tried going several times and each time, I have had stomach cramps and diarrhea after. I kept eliminating foods to determine what could cause it. Finally the last time I went I just ordered salad and again the same thing. I have now decided the cheese is getting contaminated somehow. I won't be returning either. It isn't worth the risk for Celiac folks.
Not only no safe for Celiacs GF options, but this is NOT Italian!
Most servers have a mild understanding. The GF pasta is really good and there are more and more options. This is one of our go to's if we are looking for a great salad and want a quick bite. Normally get the chicken breast with veggies or the new GF Parmesan Chicken with pasta.
