This used to be my favorite go-to restaurant, until the last two times I ate there. I would always order the On the Hill Club as it was an incredible sandwich and their gluten free bun was phenomenal! I ate there several times a month without any problems.
Unfortunately the last two times I ate there were disasters. First, I tried to take my (also Celiac) mother there for lunch. We ordered the gluten free buns and when they came out they had clearly been toasted. We asked about it, and they had gone in the common toaster with the other bread. Those turned out to be the last two buns, so we had to leave and eat elsewhere. They were great about the snafu and refunded our meals.
The last time I ate there I ordered the gf bun and specified that it was to be microwaved and not toasted (they store their bread frozen). When it came out everything looked fine and my sandwich was great. Unfortunately there had clearly been some kind of major cross contamination because I ended up with the worst case of glutening I've had in a long time. It makes me incredibly sad but I can no longer trust them with my food.
No
Farm-to-table neighborhood cafe serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Came for breakfast and ordered a gluten-free/vegan pumpkin spice bagel from Sweet Note Bakery along with locally-sourced scrambled eggs. The breakfast was good, but not the best I've had.
