Took forever to find out what side items are gf. Their pancakes and waffles are all made from almond flour and cooked in peanut oil. I had to explain 5 or 6 times that I was NOT allergic to peanuts, only tree nuts. Then after that, they tell me they won’t even scrape off the grill before cooking what little I could eat off the menu. Don’t bother. Their GF menu is for the paleo dieters, not for someone who actually needs it.
Great offerings for gluten free. I had the short stack pancakes with peanut butter chips and chocolate chips. They came out with a toothpick in them to signify that they were gf. Waitress said they make them in a separate area in the kitchen. They were delicious. If I were staying in the area, I would have definitely gone back to try the crepes or waffle!! I did not get sick and my mom did not get her cross contamination rash. Recommended!!
When I ate at the restaurant the food was delicious and I had no reaction. But when I ordered it to go and sent my son to go pick it up, I got sooo sick. Their gluten free pancakes are so good I couldn't tell the difference. Although the error was certainly not intentional, the staff needs to be trained at how important it is EVERY time gluten-free is ordered. I can't bring myself to go back just because of that experience. Unfortunate because the food really was good the first time.
There has been an ownership change here and nothing seems the same. Like a previous reviewer pointed out, the gluten free pancakes have changed for the worse. They no longer offer GF 49er Flapjacks and the regular GF pancakes were awful. The manager said the 49ers (thin and chewy) are “too hard to make”. After 16 years of dining here with my friends and my family, we will sadly look for a better option. It’s really a shame to think that the new owners don’t know how to simply maintain the regular and faithful clientele they used to have.
Definitely the best Belgium GF waffle I have ever had!! We went twice 2 days in a row. First day I needed a waffle... and they have a separate waffle maker for the GF. The next day I asked about their pancakes and they said they don’t have a separate cooktop but they could “wash” it off. I didn’t trust it enough for pancakes and eggs so I had another Belgium waffle which was fine by me! Yummy!!!
I have been coming to Florida in January and February for many years. Always enjoyed three or four meals here. The gf pancakes were the best. Evidently they changed batter. They were fat, doughy an undercooked, probably because the batter was so heavy. They were so dark they looked like whole wheat. I am sorry to say I won’t be going back and will miss the old pancakes
Horrible. I was so excited to try this place after I read the 5 star ratings, but the service was horrible, it took 45 min to get our food, when the food finally came, it was wrong, they tried to tell us that sugar water was maple syrup, etc. My boyfriend & dad had the gf pancakes and they were nowhere near deserving of 5 stars. I could make better pancakes out of a box mix. I ended up sending my food back and not even eating because everyone else was done with their meal before mine was corrected. Spoke with the manager, who was pretty clueless, which would explain why the service there is awful. (The table behind us had to ask to speak to the manager, as well) They did take my meal off of the bill because my boyfriend told them to. I would never recommend this place to anyone, even if they weren't gluten free. Zero stars.
Thank you to the manager who made a batch of love filled gluten free pancakes. My daughter has celiac and we've been on the hunt for pancakes that actually taste like pancakes... And boy we found them!!! Loved to see the look of satisfaction on her face after a year of crumbling pancakes. Thank you Pancake House
This place made me feel so spoiled! The head chef was greeting when we arrived, and I asked for a GF menu. He showed me the GF options on the menu, but advised if there was something on the menu not included under the GF section to ask and he'd likely be able to make it GF. The pigs in the blanket was awesome, and the real maple syrup worth the extra couple dollars. Definitely try this place!
We love this place!! Service is fast & friendly. We eat here often & have never had one issue. Highly recommend to gluten intolerant individuals. Try the gluten free pigs in a blanket & pay the extra for true maple syrup. Yummy!!!!
