I went to Osaka with my family and family friends and had the best experience. I am gluten free (not celiac but a very severe intolerance) and we had the best service. They were very accommodating and understanding of my allergy. I told our waiter who then brought out a small bottle of soy sauce that was gluten free. I also informed the chef who already knew. They had a gluten free butter mixture and a big bottle of gluten free soy sauce. All of my food was separate from the rest of everyone else's including the chicken rice and vegetables, all on separate plates to ensure safety. Our chef then explained he would cook my meal first to ensure no cross contamination. Due to muscle memory he did grab the wrong butter but fixed it by taking the rice off and cleaning the grill to make sure I did not get sick from cross contamination. He finished out my meal and cooked my families. They were very knowledgeable about gluten allergies and I felt very safe to eat there! I would 100% go back! This restaurant was also very family friendly!
Some things your are not able to have are:
The salad with dressing - you can get it without dressing
The noodles
The soup
Waitstaff and chefs were knowledgeable and accommodating. You can’t eat the soup or salad but that was fine with me. They made my meal first and used separate soy sauce. No issues following.
I came in yesterday (October 2, 2021) with large group and thought nothing of eating here as I've had no issues with the Clawson location. Our waiter marked down everyone's allergies. Of course, I was not able to have the salad, the soup or the noodles. But this was to be expected. My meal was cooked on a separate cooking surface. However, I can honestly say that I have been glutened massively based on the last 28 hours. The cooking surface is being used to cook carry out meals so I'm sure it was contaminated with gluten. The meal tasted fine but I won't be back as I'm in such pain now.
Waiter told me not to eat the soup and salad would be without dressing. Went with party of ten. The chef asked for all allergies then cooked my meal first. I thought food was excellent— had rice, veggies chicken and steak. Tasted great and no signs of a gluten exposure.
