**UPDATE: Returned to give them another chance. Halfway through dinner, my daughter noticed a French fry on my plate underneath my ribs. It appears to have come from one of the other non gluten free plates. I would not go back. Although they do their best to avoid cross contamination, my last visit makes me question how safe for celiacs. After ordering from GF menu and reiterating gluten free several times, the salad that I ordered without croutons (and repeated it) was contaminated. I got halfway through the salad before finding a crouton. I give them 3 stars for effort and because the manager was extremely apologetic, comped my meal and gave us a $20 coupon. Proceed with caution.
We all ordered from the separate gluten free menu and I extra pointed that out to the waitress. My celiac son ordered sirloin and shrimp- and his shrimp was on his plate on top of a dinner roll (delivered by a good runner, not our waitress). I quickly removed it and wiped off that side of his plate. The waitress took it back and brought out just shrimp on a plate.
But that should NOT happen when everyone at the table has GF menus and has pointed out that we all HAVE to be GF. Makes me distrusting of what happens in the kitchen.
Other than that, food was over seasoned and broccoli and sweet potato overcooked.
This is a great place to go if you’re looking for a bit of a nicer night out they have a dedicated GF menu in restaurant
I haven’t been to an outback since before I was diagnosed celiac. The good news is that I safely ate here and did not get sick. The bad news is the food kind of sucks. So I’m gonna mark this with a five star just simply because it’s safe to eat, but just know that not as good as some of the other places in Hot Springs.
