When I asked about GF, the waitress borrowed my menu and returned it with all of the GF items highlighted, although in several instances a non-GF item had to be crossed out. She was also very knowledgeable— for example, the grits were deemed non-GF because they were made in a factory that produced wheat and thus they couldn’t guarantee absence of cross-contamination. My only criticism, and I almost gave it four stars, was there did not seem to be a willingness to substitute out non-GF items. Overall, safe place. Food was very good and has unique offerings.
An awesome option for someone who has Celiac!!! Most of the items on the menu are gluten free. Waitress extremely knowledgable about the allergy and made great suggestions. This is a tapas/small-plates restaurant and the portions are a little smaller so you will want to try several dishes. We tried the Shishito Peppers, Vegetable Paella, Pork Shoulder, and Octopus (trust me it's delicious). I had the Flan for dessert--that was ok--consistency a little different and would have preferred a creme brûlée, but still a great dessert option. I rated this a 4-star only because I wish they had GF bread and more dessert options. Incredible cocktails, high-quality food, wonderful atmosphere, professional waitstaff -- overall this a FABULOUS choice and a Chef Hastings jewel, and new favorite of ours!! Try it!!!
