Food was good! I got the garden salad with mahi. The menu wasn’t labeled. When I asked if the mahi and garden salad would be gluten free I was told yes but they couldn’t guarantee no cross contamination. The kitchen was spacious and there was minimal prep for this dish, so I opted to get it.

Cashier knows what’s GF and about cross contamination. The choices are many, the fish amazingly fresh. I had the Ono with butter lemon sauce sautéed. They also have local hard cider. Great place. Line starts about a little before 6pm.

Great experience here! Our 2nd time eating here. Cashier was very helpful in knowing what was gluten free. My husband has celiac and had the fish tacos. He subbed for Cajun rice instead of fries. This place is an amazing value for really good fish.

The cashier was very knowledgeable about their gluten free menu, even though it was not listed as such. I had the fish tacos, which are grilled on a corn tortilla, with the red potatoes. Everything was delicious, and I did not have a reaction.

Knowledgeable staff. Told me everything that was GF and how it might be cross contaminated (no dedicated kitchen space, but willing to ensure no crumbs on flat top when I asked). After asking if cross contamination was an issue, she wrote that I had a gluten allergy on the order. I had the fish taco meal, which tasted good and didn't get me sick.

Cute little restaurant in the busy little town of Pa’ia. Lady taking orders was knowledgeable about what I could eat. Opted for fish tacos with a side of home fries (slaw comes as a standard side as well). All the food was fresh. Tacos were filling. Potatoes had the most flavor.

Don’t waste your time here. We waited in a long line just to be told by staff they couldn’t be bothered to care for a gluten free order. They would not use a different pan or utensils, so the cross contamination would be abundant and nothing would be actually gluten free. Horrible attitude towards food allergies in general, so disappointing.

Went it and explained that I had celiac. The employee told me “you can’t eat here, our kitchen is too small.” I appreciate the honestly but wish they could have been a little more accommodating as I am a local and would be a repeat customer

They said the fish tacos were not safe because of cross contamination, bummer. Had the fish sautéed in butter and garlic with the rice, it was okay.

Best fish tacos the island! Large portion sizes even with a 1 taco meal. We always visit this place a couple times each visit! Definitely one of our favorites.

Super helpful server and kitchen staff. I had a salad but pretty much made my own creation to avoid the gluten and they were so chill about it. Would definitely recommend. They’re also really quick so was perfect between scuba dives!

I have been going to paia fish market for years! (Both in paia and Lahaina) I’m very celiac and have a wheat allergy on top of it. They used to do a great job avoiding cross contamination but last time I ate there my throat closed and I had a horrible allergic reaction. All I had was the ono fish grilled! Definitely not celiac friendly anymore....

Absolutely delicious. Fish tacos were great (as with everywhere in Hawaii, seems to be the only gf options that people rave about). The tortillas are corn, I didn't feel sick afterwards (& I've been sick the entire trip), side of potatoes made in their own pan. I didn't have the same experience with the ordering as others, you order at the counter, she said the salad and the fish tacos wete gf. I had to ask about the potatoes and she confirmed how they are cooked. The line never stopped the entire time we were there, food was QUICK. Fish tacos were filling and stacked

Amazing fish tacos. They did warn us about cross contamination on the grill and in the fryer. But the staff knows what to suggest! Your food is prepared very quickly too, so it’s great for a quick stop.
