The manager came out with an allergen list to help me order something gluten-free. They list vegetarian and low fat on the menu, but it doesn’t specify gluten-free. I checked my food with a Nima and it was gluten-free, had the corn chowder with a salad.

Absolutely the last time I give these guys a shot at my business. I know I can look it up on line but my connection was slow so I ask the young man taking the order if they had a gluten free menu as I know they have options. He ran to the back and came back and said it's marked on the menu. I looked and it isn't. The manager could not take time to talk to me so that's it for me.
We ask them for an allergen menu. The staff didn’t even know what it was. Finally a manager said “allergens are listed on the regular menu.” Peanuts are. Nothing else. We left.
The panera off 135th: I told the cashier I had a severe sensitivity to gluten. Ordered a fruit cup and literally watched the girl go from making a sandwich to picking up my pieces of fruit with same gloves and placed them in my cup container. I don’t like to make a scene and I was naive and thought I could just wash the fruit off with a wet napkin. Nope I got sick and was bed bound for two days. The soup I ordered may have had cross contamination as well. I was having pain 20min after eating the food. I will never go back. 😭
BE CAREFUL! Many Paneras (for example, the one in Russett) can do gluten-free meals. This one has major problems. I have gone here for more than two years, so the following is based on a reasonable amount of experience. First, they have high staff turnover. Every time I visit, there is a completely new batch of people taking orders. Second, they don’t train their people well. Most of the time, when I say the words “gluten-free,” I am met with a blank stare. The ones who do know what it means inevitably ask me if I want bread for my side!Even on good days, the kitchen gets orders wrong more often than right. That’s why I have very low confidence that they know how to avoid cross-contamination. I have had meals here without problems, but I don’t go here very often. If you have a severe allergy, you should stay away.
Google for current GF menu but NOTE Panera is not celiac friendly as no guarantee there's not cross contamination due to the daily making of bread. Even states such verbiage on its GF menu item listing. Menu is dated so check back for updates or each time you might eat there. Salads, some soups & even claims one of the cookies is GF.
Not many potentially GF offerings, which surprised me given Panera’s emphasis on healthy food. The counter person as much as said that they really didn’t really have that option, and that cross contamination was really not accounted for. Had a salad that I think met requirements, but didn’t enjoy much. With a little thought, Panera could do much better in this area.
Not impressed. I ordered delivery and they put a baguette (when I asked for an apple) in the same bag with the (unsealed) “flourless” cookie. I won’t risk it from here again.
If I could give it zero stars I would. I had an Asian salad where I’d asked them not to add the wontons, and there were still 2 wonton strips on there. Luckily I don’t have an immediate reaction, though I am a true celiac. I explained that I had celiac and got blank stares. Don’t go there.
Not helpful in the least when looking for GF options. They gave me a binder to find something to eat. I get that it is originally a “fresh baked bread” place to eat but they have got to get current and provide GF options that are easy to spot and order from.
takes FOREVER to isolate the gluten free options. Register staff has absolutely NO idea what menu items are safe and they have to pull a huge ingredients list and look up every single item separately to determine whether it's safe. I have tried several locations. none of them have a clue.
Ok staff had no idea what contained gluten and after searching their manual I could have a salad with no dressing or toppings, squash soup or turkey chili. For sides you can have apple slices or potato chips, they do have the cookie the other person spoke of but it is in with the gluten containing cookies. The chance of cc here is pretty much guaranteed. My husband ate there and we are on our way to find something I can eat as the manager will tell you straight up they have a disclaimer they have to say to anyone with celiac disease and it emphasizes how much flour is constantly in the air and how since it is a bakery cc is extremely possible. That is why I gave the 2 stars, for their honesty. Not a safe place to eat in my opinion. Now if you are able to consume some gluten or cc is not an issue my husband said the food tasted alright, not something he would go looking for to eat but it was alright.
What do you expect from a place that makes its own bread? Definitely NOT Celiac Friendly. I ordered a plain salad and they served me a completely different salad with dressing on it, and bread on the side. The wait staff had absolutely no idea how to handle customers with food allergies. They do not change thier gloves so there will be cross-contamination.
When I told them I had an allergy they pulled out an entire binder filled with their nutrition/allergen information. They opened it up to the gluten free menu options for me, told the entire staff to wash their hands and work area and kept my food separated from the other food. It's still a full service bakery which is likely to have cross contamination but the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Also, the catering menus available at the door have gf items clearly marked.
Because of the bakery items and bread they make daily, they are very up front telling you there is a LOT of flour in their kitchens. They can offer options that don't contain gluten ingredients, but they can NOT assure you there will have been no cross-contamination. So, Celiacs are taking a risk. We have had smoothies here a few times & been fine. But that was with a manager overseeing the prep.
