Small establishment but knowledgeable about gluten free and Celiac. They use Pamela’s for pancakes and choice of mix ins. You can also add a gluten free pancake as a side to some of their breakfast meals. There is no upcharge for choosing the gluten free pancake either. Tasted great!
We stayed in Crested Butte for a month and found Paradise Cafe to be the only place we felt safe for my daughter with Celiac to eat. While they are a small kitchen and unable to provide dedicated kitchen space or dedicated fryer, they were THE ONLY restaurant in town that I found to be knowledgeable about the prep process with their GF options. The owner has CD so definitely is knowledgeable and was able to steer us in the direction of what measures they could take to prepare their gluten free food options with the least likelihood of contact. Meanwhile, at every other restaurant, when I asked questions about cross-contact and prep process of their “gluten free” options on the menu, they wouldn’t even want to answer with what they could do to try and prevent but would just say “sorry if Celiac, we can’t guarantee no contact so we recommend you don’t eat here”. I found it very frustrating as restaurant after restaurant they didn’t even want to try to take precautions with their GF options on the menu or just answer questions so I could assess my own risk, but just steered us away from the start. For this reason, for a month-long stay, Paradise Cafe was a GEM for us!! We are here or ordered to go almost every day. Take GF out of the equation, and I’d still give a 5 star review based on how amazing their food is and how great their service is!! It was a treat to let my 4 yo daughter with Celiac be able to enjoy pancakes and grilled cheese sandwiches and burgers on a bun, and amazing soups and milkshakes!! Highly highly recommend!!
The GF options were very good in size and quality!
