The atmosphere was nice, laid back, and the staff was friendly. Server was not knowledgeable about gluten free items but was willing to ask. She told us the chili dip was gluten free so we ordered that for an appetizer. Our entrees arrived about 5 minutes later. The dip was cold and served in a small plastic cup. Chips were the kind you could buy in the store, nothing special. I ordered tacos on blue corn shells. Tacos were the best part of the meal. Good flavor and filling. The rice was not that great as it had a burnt look and slight burnt taste to it. We will most likely not return though I encourage you to try it as the place was busy. Our server was very friendly throughout our time in the restaurant.
Hilldale location has dedicated fryer for kids. Other locations do not. One of my kiddos favorite places. Update: after a lot of discussion with hill dale manager....it appears the gf fryer get contaminated ....a lot. Glad they were honest but won't work for us. Kiddo has celiacs. Absolutely no gluten. 😓
I didn't feel confident they really understand true GF and the issue of cross contamination. The manager insisted the chips were GF even though they are fried in the same fryers as chicken tenders. As we asked further questions he acted a bit irritated and didn't want to check ingredients for us. We ordered what we felt would be safe. My celiac daughter did not get sick. However, we won't go back.
