Delicious food! All the non-GF people in our group liked their food as well. Waitress brought out jalapeno corn bread out to the table and upon learning that I had celiac, brought me out my own gluten free jalapeno corn muffin without being asked. I felt very confident that food was safe!
Food was delicious! I got lemon herb salmon with cheddar potatoes and broccoli. Also shared the oysters and Cajun shrimp appetizers! Really enjoyed the little jalapeno cornbread that comes with everything, and I highly recommend the cherry margarita! My server was really knowledgeable and helpful, and there is a gluten-free menu!
Gluten free menu. Does note items could be processed in facility.
Watriss brought me bread when she brought other family's said she noticed I had the GF menu and wanted to know if I wanted celiac friendly rolls.. also had a brownie for dessert.
I have Intolerance not celiac. Was very pleased
Took a risk since the menu states that there is a potential for cross contamination due to some ingredients being processed in a shared facility with wheat. They do not specify which ingredients. But others had good experiences without symptoms so I decided to try anyway.
Completely separate GF menu. You ask for it at the host station. The waittress asked if it was okay to bring out gluten free cornbread muffins, which were good! We got the blackened alligator appetizer, which was delicious, and split the jumbalaya and shrimp creole. I will be thinking about that shrimp creole for a long time! Never got sick, but wish they would investigate which ingredients are not really celiac safe.
As of May 31 2023 the website menu lists 'Celiac safe' under food items. I ordered the Shrimp & Grits and notified them of my celiacs. I received the order and tested it with my NIMA tester and it tested positive for gluten. I contacted the restaurant to notify them and was met with a very defensive tone telling me they had changed their menu and that it no longer says 'Celiac Safe', however they failed to update their website. In any case, I was not offered any support, just told they've changed their verbiage (which may have been their goal but it wasn't the reality because it says it right there on the online menu still). No offer to refund my food after asking if I could eat it, which I can't - it's being thrown away. The manager wasn't empathetic or compassionate to the situation at all, just defensive, and then compared my auto immune disease to her husband's allergies in an attempt to relate, but it was just cold and inconsiderate towards the reality of auto immune, the risks associated with falsely claiming food to be safe.
I'd give 0 stars if I could. I would not eat here or trust the food to be truly free of gluten. Cross contamination is a risk here.
I ate here with no issues. My particular server did not appear very knowledgeable, so I asked a lot of questions and examined my food carefully before eating. I had a salad with dried cherries, chicken, and a cherry vinaigrette dressing. I opted to have them leave off the pecans as I react to any nuts that are processed on shared lines. The menu actually says it will come without the blue cheese, which it did, but I carefully examined it to ensure it was safe due to the limited knowledge my server exhibited. The food was very tasty. I also had their gluten-free jalapeño corn muffin, which was excellent.
Updating my review. This place is still great! We eat here every time we come Up North. They have a separate “celiac safe” menu! Makes my daughter feel good to simply order off of a menu without having to ask a million questions. The servers are knowledgeable about celiac abs prep. They have a separate bread basket of GF corn muffins — be sure to ask for it. Delicious!
FAV Restaurant. Original owners mom was Celiac so they take it seriously. They have a Celiac and Vegan menu and buttons in the computer to let the cooks know. My brother used to cook here. They have separate kitchen space and sterilized pans to use for GF tp avoid cross contamination. Unless new, all servers know how to help and are great. To top it off, food is DELICIOUS! Fav fav fav!
Fake celiac safe menu. Claims on the menu that it’s celiac safe, then goes on to say ‘All menu items are processed in a facility that also processed wheat products or are purchased from retailers that also produce wheat based food products’. Food is decent and gluten free safe but NOT celiac safe.
Awesome gluten free menu. They even bring special GF corn muffins to the table while the non-celiacs get bread.
The only restaurant I've come across with a separate, specific celiac menu. Great selection including GF cornbread muffins and choc. chip brownie sundae for dessert. My 10 yr old celiac daughter devoured the jambalaya. They were kind enough to make her a lunch sized portion since dinner size would've been too large. We could eat here for a week and still not run out of options. Staff very friendly and attentive. Decor is cool.
They have a celiac friendly menu with a wide variety of dishes. The food was amazing and I cannot wait to go back.
Very GF friendly. Lots of menu choices. They even have GF muffins. They were very accommodating with the need for my dinner to also be dairy free
