I, too, had the Pei Wei Chicken (w/ the cauliflower rice). I was also surprised when it was deep fried, but no issues.

Eat here frequently and haven’t been sick! It makes me nervous because the shrimp come breaded but I’ve asked about this multiple times and they said they use potato flour. It’s delicious and I eat here pretty frequently and haven’t been sick (the customer service is lacking though)

I like Pei Wei a lot, but their meals can be a hit or miss. They are not consistent. I go because it’s affordable and convenient for me. Especially as take out.

So far so good- chains like this make me nervous, but we've eaten here several times with no issue. Extensive menu, and to-go orders have always been clearly labeled.

AMAZING ! Food is top notch and the gluten free options are incredible. And ya made fresh in an open kitchen concept. Bowls that you can get rice even fried rice. Oh and cauliflower rice too!! It’s my favorite place. I just wish they had more locations. Give it a try

I love the sweet and sour chicken and shrimp combo. They are very careful and cook separately after changing gloves. I’ve never gotten sick and I am very sensitive.

Staff pretty gluten free clueless. Got the lettuce wraps gluten free. They used noodles in stead of rice? I guess they add gluten to their white rice? Swimming in water. Kind of a mess to eat. They also have changed their $2.19 ice tea selection. Yuck! Asked me twice if everything was good and I said no. Said sorry and ran! What kind of customer service is that? At least they asked??? Lol. Very disappointing 😞

GF clearly marked on take out containers. Separate pans & utensils are used in prep. Several great menu options! We eat here about once a month this year and never been glutened.

Staff was very friendly and forthcoming when I asked how gf kung pow chicken. I was told they do bread the chicken in potato starch and then fry it. I asked if they have a dedicated gf fryer and was told they do not. 😢 Not celiac safe..

Although I have loved eating here before being diagnosed with celiac, I would no eat here being gf. I have tried to eat here countless times and every time I end up getting sick. Although I wish I could eat here, it is not the best for someone with celiac disease.

I will say this my go to place for Asian food. I have ordered most of their gluten free items and all have been delicious. Overall, their food and service has been great!

They offer gluten free options, and do a pretty good job. No restaurant can be perfect. Probably NOT a good option for celiacs with mid to high sensitivity.

They said they would take precautions but you could tell they didn’t care. Didn’t clean anything and two of our dishes had gluten noodles in them when we specifically told them we had celiac

Ordered GF Mongolian Chicken. Told them to take allergy protocols. Yet, dinner had pieces of noodles in it. They did refund our meal, but now my son is likely to be sick. I don’t trust them to take appropriate protocols in the future. Do not recommend. :-(

If you don't like spicy, they basically have one option - sweet and sour. It's good, but that's it. UPDATE: menu is WAY better now, lots of options

I really enjoy the Kung Pao shrimp! So crispy and delicious. It’s nice that they offer menu items that PF Chang’s doesn’t offer.

Don’t trust it! Got sick, food is everywhere for cc. Asked server when they brought it if it was gluten free. He was like yeah the chicken is. I’m like I got the beef! He’s like that’s what I meant.

They’ve added several gluten free options: King Pao, Mongolian, Pei Wei Original, Sweet and Sour, Ginger Broccoli, and Fried Rice bowls! The Edamame, Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps, and Asian Chopped Salad are also GF. I didn’t double check, but it looks like each item is cooked up in its own wok.

Ordered the ginger beef and broccoli over rice. Specifically said gluten free. Everything looked fine, until I noticed small pieces of noodles in my beef and broccoli. It literally looked like leftovers from someone else's plate. So far they've messed up and contaminated my plate twice. Not sure if I should go there again. Was incredibly sick 'cause of them.

Staff was knowledgeable about gluten allergy. Ate the sweet and sour chicken with plain rice off the gluten free menu. Tested it with my Nina Test Sensor for gluten and came back negative. I did not have any reaction. Will try again soon to see if the trend continues.

Fresh food and menu was easy to find what was gluten free. Staff new that soy sauce can gluten. Didn’t give a 5 only because of the limited choices for gluten free food.

Avoid as the worker stated it’s “usually” gluten free when you ask. After clarifying he said it again. Place is dark & doesn’t feel clean anyway but the good news is Chipotle is right next door with GF options.

Got very sick from getting gluten free sweet & sour veggies with brown rice from here, I specified that I have a gluten allergy but must have gotten glutened anyway because I’m having a very bad gluten reaction :( not as safe as I thought it was, I def won’t be back.

They now have a separate dedicated allergen cooking area with dedicated GF pans and cookware! <<< IMPORTANT UPDATE!! We were told last time that all pei wei’s now have separate pans and cook areas for gluten free. I did not get sick last time. However, this time, I visited in person and stopped them before they cooked mine in the same wok as everything else. They said that they don’t actually have separate pans, but they do “burn” the wok before cooking mine. I told them that gluten is not something that can be burnt off like a bacteria and I canceled my order :/ Not Celiac safe. But gave two stars only because of the gluten free options for those who are not Celiac.

I went here last Sunday night and was looking forward to a nice gluten free meal. Told the staff to put an "allergy alert" and that I have celiac. They seemed to know what they were doing and I felt pretty comfortable with my meal when it came out. I was about a third of the way finishing it when I discovered an egg noodle swimming in the sauce at the bottom of my bowl. Long story short, they were very apologetic and refunded my money but I did end up getting sick. I will not be going back but if you decide to take a chance, maybe make sure to ask them to be extra careful and use a clean wok. I thought I did enough but obviously not. Mistakes happen and the Manager did say he would talk to his staff about this. Good luck if you decide to go!

The gluten free options are limited but clearly labeled. I tried the chicken salad roll. It was really delicious! I typically react very quickly (within 20 minutes) to even the slightest amount of cross contamination and I feel great. I will definitely be going back.

Excellent gluten free sweet and sour chicken. They now offer cauliflower rice which is also delicious. The brown rice and white rice is also gluten free, but of course the fried rice is not. Makes a great lunch or dinner. Yum!!
