Good food for everyone. They had gluten free buns and were able to do my reuben with one. No dedicated fryer. The house salad contains cranberries which were soaked in beer, as well as almonds that were coated in flour. Service was friendly by we were there longer than I would have preferred.
Service was amazing. I have a gluten sensitivity with ibs and had no problems. I ordered the cheeseburger with a gluten free bun and it was delicious. The server asked me if it was a sensitivity or celiac and let me know that they do have protocols/options for celiac.
our family ate here on the Fourth of July, which included a mom (celiac), dad (IBS), and kids ages 10, 6 and 1. This was a great family friendly restaurant that was able to accommodate our gluten allergy on a busy day. To keep things simple, we ordered four hamburgers on gluten-free bread with side salads. (French fries are beer battered so, no go.)
Arrived at 6pm. Had a 40 minute wait as we had dogs and needed outside. Totally fine with it. Our waitress was new and training but the trainer waitress was super knowledgeable. Not dedicated fryer. Asked how serious my allergies was- told her celiac. Very serious. She said CC is possible but the kitchen will do everything to try and make that not possible. I appreciated it. Got a cheeseburger with side salad. She said the cranberries on the salad are soaked in beer- so she will make sure those aren’t on it. GF bun sucked- not surprised. But overall it was a good burger. Salad was ok. Root beer float for dessert was delicious.
They have cauliflower crust but it is cross contaminated since they don't put it in a separate dish. Their new menu was wrong on some gluten free items, so make sure you double check. The server was very nice and gladly double checked with the cooking staff to answer our questions.
They have a handful of GF items on the menu, and the tri-tip GF flatbread was AMAZING. The server checked the hot chocolate to be sure there wasn’t any malt in it (there wasn’t). She also appreciated that I said I had an allergy, but I wasn’t clear if they did anything differently with that knowledge.
I am celiac, and I sometimes will not have a reaction if there is a *little* contamination. That said, I did not get sick and would definitely eat there again. Yum!
We were in a large group with 4 kids and our server was a pro. Very helpful and made good suggestions for my friend who is gf and df. Got a glass of wine, but less burger and salad. All were delicious/ high quality and would gladly go back. All the gluten eaters’ food was amazing too. Thanks!
Due to COVID-19 the Cannon Beach location is not serving gluten free food. I called in and they said they did, but AFTER waiting for 30 minutes to be seated they said they don’t. So I was left with no gf food options other than salad.
Not gluten free friendly at all. They delivered our entire meal of 6 burgers with regular buns after discussing our order very carefully. Lastly, we ordered a gluten free "flat bread" that was presented to us as "pizza". When asked to confirm it was gluten free, the waitress said, "yes, see it's flat." Oh my! Even if it's wheat, flat bread is flat. It tasted like wheat. I will find out soon if I have a tummy ache. This lady had no clue of the importance of being gluten free for some people. Never to return!
I asked if the cider was gluten free and the waitress wouldn't even grab a bottle to double check. Got the old "well it should be". Got up and left and did not eat.
Celiacs Beware. The Chef was very kind to come talk to me, but basically the answer is that they work in a high paced environment and may not take precautions about cross-contamination in the kitchen. Also, their dedicated GF menu was pretty limited compared to their regular menu. We chose not to eat here.
