Not celiac friendly. Despite talking to the staff in depth, and being assured of their knowledge, the manager admitted my waiter slacked on ensuring my meal was gluten free because they were busy and he preferred to chat with his friends which were seated at a nearby table in his section. Was offered a free meal as an apology.... Don’t think I want to get sick again. Never goin back again.

I'm not really sure how many stars this review deserves. I went to Penny Black today with a friend. I am gluten free and decided to try their Gouda Apple Griller with their gluten free bun (an extra $1). I had no complains, everything tasted good to me! But after eating half the sandwich, my friend pointed out a couple spots of mold on my uneaten half. Management was nice. They comped my meal and told me the next time I come, my meal and my friend's meal will be free. I have a hard time trusting places with gluten free buns because I know not many people order them; therefore they go bad. Unfortunately I had a bad experience. If I didn't have any mold, I would give 5 stars because the half that I ate did taste good! I think if I go back, I'd order something like a salad that is naturally gluten free.

while the food was delish, chef bases what is 'safe' on his mother's reactions... said the brussel sprouts (fried) were safe.. only to find they were fried in the shared fryer (but his mom didn't get sick)... ugh. I couldn't move the next day from my joints being so inflamed.

Was told the chips were gluten-free and ordered a sandwich on gluten-free bread. Within the hour extremely sick and hours later still extremely sick.

Penny Black is AMAZING!!! This was my 2nd time at the restaurant. I was there for lunch and for dinner. The waitress told me they have a gluten free button and a celiac button when they put in the orders on the computer! I had the Baja Fish Tacos; BEST fish tacos I've ever had anywhere! My husband and son, who are not gluten free diners, loved their food! Excellent place, casual, lots of tv's, easy to locate, DELICIOUS! LOVED!!!!

They have a whole separate menu with many choices. I had the bbq chicken Cobb salad with honey Dijon dressing and it was amazing.
