Had breakfast and server was knowledgeable about how things are cooked. I am gluten and dairy free and server helped guide me toward safe options.. not a lot of gluten free items, but omelettes are cooked in separate pans and found out the grits are safe. Had fresh squeezed OJ and coffee. I had a good experience but I’m not super picky as long as I feel like the server understands my concerns and feel confident they will communicate with kitchen. I felt good about it. There are certainly more celiac friendly places in town, but if you want to eat at the oldest restaurant and aren’t real picky about limited gluten free options they will accommodate.
— Somewhat
They do not have a GF menu. It was not good. I had to order a sandwich without a bun and the piece of fish was small. They are known for their breakfast, but I won’t be back.
— Not at all
— No gluten-free information on the menu
— Not Much
— Poor
Service was friendly. No dedicated fryer, no gluten free buns. They basically only serve burgers and sandwichesfor lunch so no options other than getting a bun free burger. After telling waitress we were celiac she asked if we wanted macaroni salad. They have no clue about gluten. We figure the bacon we had must have been cc.
No
Absolutely not gf or celiac safe!
I was so disappointed because I love restaurants with history.
Server was super-annoyed at my questions so I ended up ordering the peel and eat shrimp because it seemed like that would be tough to contaminate.
Didn’t get sick, but I don’t plan on ever going back.

Good home cooking. old school cooking. Almost whole menu gluten free. Had a good steak, mushrooms, and potatoes. in business since 1902. Good food.
