Chang’s Spicy chicken from the GF menu is delicious, but might be a bit spicy for some. Another reviewer said that they were told that it was not gluten free even though there was a gluten free sticker. I think that was because of a misunderstanding about the term “breaded”. It isn’t breaded, but is coated with rice flour. We almost always get the same thing, but I love their chicken fried entree rice also.
I’m not celiac but highly gluten intolerable. My office ordered lunch from PF Chang’s in Roseville, CA. The last time I ate there the only thing I really felt comfortable getting was their lettuce wrap, which was good. However, now they have a GF menu. I ordered the GF Mongolian Beef Bowl with GF Fried Rice and it was delish! For me it was pretty clean. No digestive issues. Not sure they are Celiac proof but they worked for me!
Be careful ordering from here. I ordered from only the GF menu, however when I got home I noticed that one of the chicken entrees I ordered was breaded (Chang's chicken). So I called the restaurant and the manager verified that none of their GF items are breaded. Somehow a mistake was made and I was given the wrong entree. So even though the container was marked with a orange gluten free sticker the food inside of it was not gluten free.
I love P.F. Chang's the service is wonderful. The food is amazing. And I have yet to get sick eating the food (after two years of trying them). So far it is the only place I really trust. I love that they have an allergy free section of the kitchen and the gluten free food is served on special plates. And take out is marked by a gluten free sticker.
What a great experience! This was our first restaurant experience since my son was diagnosed with Celiac. The menu options were excellent, but our waitress, Victoria, was absolutely over-the-top amazing! She totally understood my son's condition, explained everything to us and really went out of her way to make our dining experience wonderful. They have a dedicated section of the kitchen for GF food prep, and they even have GF dessert items and Victoria brought us a couple on the house. I highly recommend this location.
Plenty of GF options to choose from. Son and I were very happy with our choices. Lettuce wraps were fantastic! Everything can out to is on a special plate. My only wish is that they had a non-chocolate gf dessert.
Love their gluten free menu. Our favorite us the gf Shaking Beef. I have a wheat intolerance. My hubby has more issues when he eats gluten but here we experienced no problems. The gluten free menu items take longer to make so if you're short on time just order the gluten free lettuce wraps. They come out fast. By far it has more gluten free items to chose from.
We have gone here twice- once with my dad (diagnosed celiac)- they screwed up and he dealt with the consequences for the next 14 days- I called to explain their mistake and ask them to review their GF policies- the General Manager didn't apologize, he just told me that was a risk of their menu. I tried to explain it was a cross contamination type reaction, this was full blown due to eating gluten. No apology... Months and months later, went back (w/o my dad), and ordered just off the GF menu, first brought a regular plate of food, then brought what we were told was gluten free... Well for the next 10 days I was dealing with those consequences. I don't suggest returning! I sure won't. I will say I've been to other pf changs in the Bay Area and had NO reaction!
Staff is kind and well trained about food allergies, very high standards for avoiding cross contamination. Separate area in kitchen and separate plates used for serving. Not to mention the food is excellent. My non GF family cannot tell any difference with the GF menu items we order.
I’m Gluten Sensitive/Intolerant- with that being said, I don’t usually have a problem with cross-contamination. I have found if you have a knowledgeable server, or ask for one, they are pretty careful. Dan, the bartender at this location, is a wonderful help at knowing what to recommend also!:) I love the Crispy, Honey shrimp, (used to get away with a little gluten), but just can’t do it anymore! He recommended having them coat it in potato starch, taste and texture were wonderful with no bad reaction!❤
We eat here and order take out. They take care and have a dedicated area in kitchen. Food comes out on a red plate. No reaction. Food tastes great and the atmosphere is cool! They even have a chocolate cake dessert as well as ice cream. It’s a hit with my kids!
Their chicken lettuce wraps are delicious! They fry the rice noodles at the start of the day before any other items are cooked in the oil.
The service and seating arrangements were terrible they placed my wife and I at a table where both of our chests touched the table due to “larger”patrons having to move the booths out so they could fit. After requesting a new table we then waited 20 minutes for two drinks to which I ended up going to the bar and retrieving myself. The server seemed to have no idea about celiac disease or me requiring completely gluten free food other than me saying it. With that said my food wasn’t marked in any way shape or form and management didn’t deliver my food - as most restaurants do in some combination, as a matter of fact the person delivering the food made no attempt to differentiate the foods being served due to us getting multiple dishes. Overall it was a bad experience with our server barely being involved in our dining experience. With all of that said there is very few GF Chinese style restaurants as much as I thought I was going to have issues I was alright but you need to be very diligent coming here, we don’t do many “chain” restaurants and this reminded us why that is. I would look at Jackie’s water place it’s very close and we’ve had a much better experience there.
