Knowledgeable staff and great pizza! The crust looks too good to be gluten free, but it was. Menu is marked with gluten free options.
Excellent crust and toppings (we had the Bucktown). Only comes in 12 inch, but that was more than enough for my wife and me. We also liked the blazed veggies for an appetizer, which might explain why a small pizza was sufficient for two. Omission beer was only GF brew, but it was a good match. Waitress didn't bat an eye when I said GF. GF items marked on menu and specialty pizzas are included.
The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten free items. I had salad and pizza and it was delicious!! :) the dough was a little thicker, like actual pizza. I would definitely go back if I could.
Knowelegable and careful about cc. GF pizza crust was great and all toppings except meatballs are GF. The GF baked veggies app was delicious!
I’m in gluten and dairy free heaven. This pizza is worth coming back to St Louis for. Fantastic.
Pizza was pretty good and I didn’t get sick! Definitely the best GF crust I’ve had at a restaurant, especially when it first came out of the oven. Plus the GF is slightly bigger than most places so it’s not a tiny personal pizza, it’s just the same size as their regular small.
I paid to come here, when I had a voucher for Sweetfire Grill (across the street, highly rated). I ate at Pi a couple of years back, when I was in town for work, and I remembered it being really good. They have a handmade gluten free crust that is similar to a medium thickness wheat crust, with crispy edges. This isn’t a Meat Lovers or Supreme kind of place. Most of the pizzas are more upscale/artisanal, and a small (the only size for GF crust) is in the $16-20 range for most of their specialty combinations. However, that is plenty for two people. I was really hungry, so I ate fast. I’m a big guy, and I regretted finishing it off. I managed it, but I should have taken 2-3 pieces with me. The pizza was fantastic, and as soon as I ordered it, the bartender directed me to the GF beer and cider section of the drink menu, and she said most of their mixed drinks were or could be made GF. My son is celiac, and I have severe wheat allergies. I had no problems, either visit, and I don’t believe my son would, either.
Very good GF pizza & pretty large size. Nice crust. I had a GF "the Hill" pizza (see photos). I liked it and would go again.
Staff was well educated on celiac. I mentioned it at the outset and the server waved off any explanation with a smile and was just like- 'we got you , we'll have all the items you order marked and we'll be very careful''. It was so nice to have service be so knowledgeable and used to the protocol. I had one of the specialty pizzas on the gluten free crust and it was delicious!!!! Their crust was buttery and crisp. I tried the gluten free cookie sandwich for dessert. Too sweet for me but it was nice to have the option!
As much as I LOVED this pizza I had a HIGE flare up the next day. It is NOT safe to eat here. It wasn’t busy at all so there really are no excuses.
Knowledgeable about Celiac, amazing pizza.
The Pizza was delicious, as we're the chips, however my husband with celiac got sick the next day. The place was quite busy for dinner rush, so that may have lead to some cross contamination issues.
Pizza was hot and fresh and delicious. Wings were awesome as well. Great service, well educated staff.
The service was awesome, very personal and understanding to the struggle. I live in a very small town, 1-1/2 hours from gf anything. This pizza was AMAZING!!! The skillet cake was also AMAZING!!!! I only gave it 5 stars because there wasn't 10 stars on here.
The gf pizza is fabulous. They even have dessert!
Great pizza, wonderful crust.
The food was amazing! Many great GF options marked clearly on the menu. Pizza crust and wings were delicious!
Ok - LOVED the pizza I got - the GF crust was great and not all crumbly... I think it was called something Central West End? There were issues with the service though - I asked for a sample of a cider on tap and I was given an entire beer... Asked if it was cider before taking a sip was very disappointed it wasn't (knowing I'd have to also deal with getting sick now). The waitress seemed new, but still... I told her I had to be gluten free BEFORE she brought me the cider too. Staff should be more knowledgeable for sure. I still think the pizza was awesome and I imagine would have had a better experience with a different server (she was also forgetful and things took a while after being asked for them). I would just be VERY clear with your server and double check things, even though it feels annoying to do so. They also had some tasty GF desserts!
Yum so good, sad they don't deliver, staying close enough we got a ride over to pick up a pizza, waiting for our pie the server talked us into the cookie sandwiches, really sweet but super tasty.
Pizza was very good. Waitstaff was knowledgeable and careful. There was a nice selection of deserts, too.
Very pleased with this restaurant. We had an order of regular pizza and gluten free and was impressed when a different person other than our server brought out the gluten free pizza (I hate when my food is brought out touching gluten food!). And to top it all off, this was one of the best gluten free pizzas I've had in a very long time!
I had a GF dairy free pizza and it was incredible! The GF vegan cookies were out of this world!
Our server had no clue about GF, asked to speak with the manager. She was very knowledgeable and explained to how the pizza was made, cooked, and delivered to the table. She said there is always a chance of cc but the kitchen staff does take it seriously.
Great place with great gf pizza. Never had an issue here and the waiters have been awesome and understanding. Been to both CWE and Downtown locations.
Fabulous gf pizza crust. Wings are out if this world delicious! Wait staff is very knowledgable and the menu is clearly labeled.
The overall experience was awful! However, the food was AMAZING. We arrived at 3:45PM on a Sunday (location on Washington) and the place had 3 tables sat. We sat at the tall tops by the bar and were served water upon arrival. Our server did not greet us for 20 minutes and only after I asked the host if we had one assigned to us- she asked us to be patient since there was only 1 server on right now! We ordered our food and I asked if the GF pizza is made in 9". I received a snarky remark that "All GF are made in 12" only ALL the time" FYI-I'm from CA and have never visited any of the Pi locations. As we sat there another 20 minutes, 4 more tables were sat. We received our food 45 minutes after first entering! Like I said, FOOD was Delicious! We finished eating within 20 minutes (we are now at 1 hour and 5 minutes). Another drink was offered to my husband upon receiving the food....he didn't receive until we had finished and were waiting for the server to drop our check or offer us a box for remaining pizza. Our sever never checked on us throughout the entire time there. I forgot to mention. He got my pizza wrong- it had to go back and went it came out, the hostess dropped it and apologized- not our server! All 7 tables that were there before and came after us have all been closed out and were departing! We are the only ones left besides a table having drinks next to us! My husband requested the check, server told us to give him a minute as he chatted with last table to leave. We waited another 10 and I got my wallet out and left the credit card on the table. He came by 10 minutes after to ask if we needed a box?! I gave him my credit card and told him to run it so we could leave...that's right! We are now able to leave this place after a record 1 hour and 25 minutes! Last people out, $70 later, and totally ignored by our server! Thanks, Pi Pizza! Service totally ruined this experience for us....hope you get it right with your next customers!
Outstanding GF Pizza experience. Had to ask where crust came from. Was told USA/ Rich's Crust from Buffalo NY. Creative ingredient combos. We had prosciutto /goat cheese/red onion/arugula and it rocked. Also had delightful GF Wings with an unbelievable cucumber yogurt sauce. I'm from Chicago, but this Pizza experience was tops!
Very knowledgable server about gluten free options. The pizza crust was great, and they offered a lot of options for toppings.
Delicious GF crust and aware staff!
Excellent. I've eaten here many times and I have never had a problem with cross contamination. I love not getting charged extra for gf crust! I love love love their pizza! They also have delicious drinks.
Fabulous GF pizza. Our waiter, Alexander, was wonderful. He answered all my questions with all the right answers regarding prep and cross contact prevention. We live in CO, but next time we're in St. Louis, we'll be back!!
wow was I impressed. Just traveling through St Louis and hit my trusty find me gluten free app. Came upon PI. Since desiring a GF Pizza for some time, went. Was so excited to see that they had a whole bunch of options for me. Being Celiac stinks while traveling. PI wa the highlight of my trip. Thank you....
Love eating here! The pizza is really good!
Great pizza, several GF items and knowledgeable staff for a fair price!
I didn't pay extra for gluten free crust, for the first time ever. Thanks for not punishing me monetarily because I have a food allergy and you can. I will definitely come back again.
Yummy!!! Gluten Free, Dairy Free. Also had the homemade hummus w/ Gluten Free chips, also homemade. Wow!
Gluten Free crust was the best I've ever had! My husband preferred my GF pizza to the regular crust. Service was excellent and quite accommodating to my dietary needs and my five year old son's curiosity.
Pretty good pizza.
Outstanding pizza on a gf crust - thin and crispy. Possibly the best gf pizza I've had.
Just like other Pi's in the area with a alick new downtown location.
The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten. They have a statement on their menu detailing how they are careful about handling allergens. They also offer dairy free Daiya cheese. I split a pizza and small salad with a friend. It was okay, not excellent. As the pizza cooled, it got progressively less appealing.
I had a GF Hill pizza and it sure hit the spot! It’s hard to find a fluffy crust that’s not rock hard when getting GF. Only complaint is that the pizza was not very hot, I only ate a couple pieces then took the rest home and put in the oven for 15 min and that was fabulous! No reaction and I’m very sensitive. Would eat again next time we visit STL.
Everything was delicious here! Fire roasted vegetables, Greek salad, and east loop pizza were awesome! Had a cookie sandwich too! So impressed and the manager even came over to talk to me about cross contamination ensuring me my food would be safe!
Went there for a friend's birthday party. My wife has celiac and was nervous after reading other reviews on this app for this location. Not only do they have gluten free options, but one of the chefs brought out her pizza separately to reassure her it was gluten free. It was delicious and she had no reaction. Impressed!!
Loved loved loved!!! Central West End GF pizza was amazing. Ate here 3 nights in a row!! The GF chocolate cake is the best dessert we have ever had. Light, fluffy and served warm. Yummy!! We did not get sick eating here and we are very sensitive to gluten.
ordered a gf pizza. the chef came out and explained that everything is kept separate so there's no cross contamination and not to worry. they even bring it out separate as the others in my group ordered a normal pizza. and its the best gf pizza I have tried.
The food is delicious, but I have a friend who worked there and said they DO NOT pay attention to cross contamination, and are under the impression that whatever gluten just "burns off" in the oven. Whyyyyyy?? The pizza is so good! But they don't put it on the top rack and its under other non gf pizzas. This being said, the food is just so damn delicious...
I usually love Pi, but they have had some waitstaff turnover and recently created a gluten free menu. Since then, I have been 'glutened' the last three times eating there. Since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I am only averaging a cross contamination percentage of 50%. Not good!
Great service Zoey thanks! We enjoyed the GF pizza and had a couple with custom toppings. The fresh mozz was great with bacon, pepperoni, mushrooms, red peppers, etc. The server was fabulously attentive and could not have been better. It was also nice to see they actually had a couple desserts we could order. We even had a couple gluten free beer's with our dinner. GREAT to see there were three beer selections and a cider and it wasn't Michelob... THANK YOU!!!!!! We have NEVER had a beer with our GF pizza while dining out. Would love to see you come up with a deep dish crust recipe like your fabulous deep dish non GF pizza. Please? :) Our son reacts quickly to anything that even looks like it might have gluten in it and NO reaction whatsoever. We were thrilled. MANY other places around the area claim to have gluten free pizza but it's just a crust with some veggies and they have NO clue about whether the meat has gluten in it or not. We were so glad we made the little extra drive to Pi's Pizzaria and if we get to DC or other areas around St. Louis where they are we will DEFINITELY be back. They also have a milk shake bar where they serve shakes, root beer floats and purple cow's. Used to LOVE purple cow's when I was a kid. Thanks again for the friendly, knowledgeable staff!
Only downside is that this location is a small carry out store with only two small tables up front. Gluten free crust comes only in ten inch but was awesome. The wings are seasoned, baked, and are Gluten free heaven! staff was more than accommodating considering there were four of us.
