Despite their efforts, the cross contamination was enough to make me sick.
Really good gf crust. The guy behind the counter changed gloves and utensils when I ordered the gf crust. The staff was friendly and fast. Great pizza!
Great GF pizza. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. The price is reasonable.
Best gluten free pizza I've had yet! And super quick service and friendly staff!
Great personal GF pizza options.
Good GF pizza, decent size, for a reasonable price! We'll be back.
Super careful about cross contamination. They prepare the pizzas separately and use separate cutters. Knowledgeable staff!
I am a very frequent customer. When I order and say that I am gluten intolerant, the staff always knows exactly what to do! The gloves are changed, clean spatula used, the pizza maker lets the pizza taker outer know there is a gluten free pizza in the oven, and separate board, cutter and other tools designated GF only are used. Most importantly, the pizza is DELICIOUS! AND I love using the app to earn points!
Went on a very busy Saturday and they accommodated us incredibly well. The pizza was so good and staff was knowledgeable!
After a brief chat about their gluten free pizza crust, the gentleman behind the counter asked me if gluten free was an allergy or by choice. When I mentioned celiac, he made sure he used all different utensils (and changed both gloves) The entire staff was very accommodating and understanding. I completely appreciate and will be back.
The staff was very knowledgeable about the ingredients in their food and were more than willing to check labels if they were not 100% sure. The vegan cheese was a great alternative as well! They changed their gloves, used different utensils and cutting boards to cut the pizza, and cleaned their space for me before making my pizza! Awesome service and very friendly!
Cross contamination is a huge issue here.
They try, they really do, to make your gluten free pizza carefully. However, even changing gloves, there is still cross contamination from reaching in to grab toppings. They are all shared toppings, I was definitely glutened here eating a SALAD. My son, who is also celiac got the runs last time too. It’s a shame because it’s the best pizza crust ever :(
I had at least four pizzas while in the area for a conference... ALL delicious! if you've never been, it's very similiar to a Subway or Chipolte where you order and build going down the line. They change gloves and alert everyone handling the pizza to the allergy. They do mention on their menu that cross contamination is unavoidable, but their care and alerts left me with no ill effects.
although they have GF crust, they cross contaminate everything else on their pizza. no changing of gloves after touching regular crusts. same sauce container and spreader, etc.
They offer a gluten free crust for a 2 dollar up charge. Their crust is so good especially for it being gluten free! They make a conscious effort for keeping pizzas as gf as possible.
The pizza is good, but the cross contamination is high risk. They ask if you are allergy or preference, but then they use the same sauce and spoon that they dragged across the floor dough on your crust. And even though they change their gloves, I watched the way they handle the toppings with the other pizzas. They have touched the other dough and then grab handfuls of ingredients from the containers. I can't recommend this place for individuals with the allergy. I will not be going back.
The staff is knowledgeable and takes care to avoid cross contamination. During my first visit we sat down to wait for our pizzas and when they brought my daughter’s they apologized and said they had to remake mine. They had accidentally cut it with the regular pizza cutter so they were making me a new one. It’s nice when a place doesn’t have to be told you need it remade. They just did it and apologized profusely. I’ve been back a few times since and it’s been awesome each time!
I have Celiac and my two boys have a gluten sensitivity. We all got the tummy grumbles and bathroom troubles after our visit here despite me asking for fresh sauce and new utensils. Perhaps the cheese or pepperoni was already contaminated by contact? The GF cauliflower crust tastes great! And it’s probably great for folks who don’t have an autoimmune reaction to gluten, but our family can’t risk going here anymore.
Salads are celiac safe, but even the gluten free pizza is not. They use the same sauce and toppings from the line which it’s a great risk for cross contamination. But if you are thy sensitive it’s great. They cook gf pizza alone in the oven and alert all staff that it’s gf
If you ASK they will change gloves, get the sand which fixings from a new container and use a different slicing machine that is away from all bread crumbs etc. I also go during off times bc I know it would be pretty hard during lunch or dinner rush. I didn’t get sick but I had to do a lot of asking this the 4 stars instead of 5
I have Non-celiac gluten sensitivity. I can eat here without issue. They do wipe down the counter and change gloves BUT cheeses, toppings and sauces are all shared/cc. I will not feed it to my celiac child. Their food is good and the manager/staff is very nice. Recommend if avoiding gluten but 100% not celiac friendly.
I LOVE this place. Their pizza is amazing. The gluten free crust is one of the best I’ve ever had because it actually has flavor to it. They have so many different toppings to choose from, including vegan cheese, and if you tell them you’re Celiac they will use gloves to avoid cross-contamination when preparing your pizza. Gluten free crust is cooked and given to you on a foil pan and then put into a pizza box to avoid cross contamination that way as well.
Gluten free handling practices are great! The moment I said gluten free, the employee changed his gloves and got out a different tray for the crust. The crust is prepackaged. They used a squirt bottle full of pizza sauce instead of using the bowl of sauce used on regular pizzas. Used separate tools to spread the sauce. The pizza is boxed in a separate area from the other pizzas. The pizza was good, but not great. The toppings are excellent, but the crust was a little limp.
Terrible customer service for ordering takeout. Didn't give a price, had to repeat myself multiple times, didn't tell me when it would be ready, didn't ask for a name, and didn't hang up the phone so we heard disgusting language/fighting. Then tried to call back to cancel twice and phone was still not hung up.
all staff take great care not to cross contaminate.
Even though the staff is very knowledgeable about cross contamination, there are a few issues with their system. For example, they change the spoon for a new and sanitized one, but they use the same sauce that they put the contaminated ones in. Other than that, they are perfectly fine.
NOT Celiac's friendly with the pizza making process. They use the same ladles to dip and spread the sauce for their GF as they do with their regular pizzas. There is also chance for contamination with putting on the toppings and the baking of the pizza. I ended up eating a salad instead of the pizza.
They have a gluten free crust and change gloves but they use the same sauce, ladel, and toppings and they don't make it separately so cc is HIGH here even with changing gloves. It's pointless. I got here with friends and then couldn't eat safely.
We are new to CLT and wanted to find pizza that I can eat. The staff here was very knowledgeable and helpful. Pizza was good.
Offer a GF crust, use seperate utensils and separate container of marinara. Baked it on a tray and cut it on a dedicated GF cutting board. Staff was friendly and accommodating despite my many questions. Pizza crust was ok... a bit like cardboard, but was grateful for their accommodations.
The staff is so friendly and courteous. They always change gloves and wash hands without hesitation. I've pretty sensitive and have never gotten sick. I eat here often. I think their crust is the best I've tried. And it doesn't contain soy which is another one of my triggers.
Only reason I'm willing to give 1 star is I think I have to, haha, and because they do offer GF crust. They attempted to be safe with our food but they were not at all. I watched in disbelief as they used the same utensils as the lady in front of us used on the regular crust. We aren't celiac so I didn't make a big deal about it but would have walked out if I was. The lady brought over to fix our order was completely annoyed by us. We felt an inch tall by the time we were finished.
