As per their website: GLUTEN FREE CRUST - Our pizza crust is made with gluten-free ingredients, however, all of our pizzas are prepared in a common kitchen with the risk of gluten exposure. Pieology does not recommend our gluten-free pizzas for guests with celiac disease. Guests with gluten sensitivities should also exercise caution and judgment when ordering our gluten-free pizzas.

Everyone on the line is aware an allergy order is coming. Everyone who handled my pizza put on new gloves. Cauliflower crust was stored separately from other crusts. This location has a small oven they use just for gluten allergies. Oh, and they have Daiya cheese. Overall, a very good experience.

Used to be really good. But their separate gluten free oven no longer works and you have to ask for a glove change and separate tray. The restaurant has gotten progressively more disgusting, especially the area where they prepare the pizzas. I used to frequent pieology when they first opened, but the last time I ate there I got sick, so no more.

Beware if you have celiac - I’ve been visiting this location since opening and over the past yr have been up all night sick. My guess is from pizza oven cross contamination while cooking . Even if the oven is swept not everyone is careful unless you watch everyone passing your item while and after cooking . Pretty bummed as I love Pieology

Cmon fellow reviewers there is no way this is celiac safe. The staff does not understand cross contamination at all. We lucked out and one of the guys working has a girlfriend with celiac and he was able to make us a pizza we left safe eating but there other two staff members had no clue and were mildly unpleasant. I would not come back and If you have celiac I would not eat here.

I picked up a GF cauliflower crust pizza-first time Piology patron... I ate three pieces and LITERALLY called them just to say: thank you! I haven’t had pizza THAT stinkin good in YEARS! I ordered online, told them I had celiac, and am feeling no ill effects some time after. I’m genuinely impressed and will continue to order time and time again. Yummmmm... JUST MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR THEM TO COOK YOUR PIZZA ON PARCHMENT PAPER IN THE OVEN

Cauliflower crust tasted great. But I won't be going back. Not safe for celiac. They didn't ask if it was allergy or preference. They didn't change their gloves. They dip the brushes back into the sauces. If you get marinara sauce it would be more safe. But since they use the same gloves and touch the non-gf pizza and touch the ingredients I won't be going back. I got sick

Celiac friendly pizza place. Very careful with cross contamination. My family has eaten here twice. My mom is more sensitive with cross contamination than I am and she also loved the pizza and was just fine afterwards.

I ordered the gluten free crust and they asked if it was an allergy or preference. I told them allergy and they changed their gloves, used a separate pan with fresh paper and every person along the line asked if I wanted them to change gloves before handling my food. They even asked my husband who had a normal crust but asked for the dairy-free cheese. I was impressed how aware of allergies they seemed to be. Pizza tasted great!

The crust is GF, but baked on same surface as all the regular pizzas. Cross contamination alert!

This was a great find. If you want healthy pizza, they have GF and Cauliflower Crust options and you get to pick toppings as they build it. They also have dairy free cheese, and great vegan options. We’ve taken several different groups of friends and everyone has loved it!

The corn flour used to dust the boards they prepare the pizza on is mixed with regular flour. You need to ask for a clean board, change of gloves and no dusting of the board. And they do not have a separate area to cook the pizzas so they are cooked on the same grate/area that the gluten pizzas are cooked. So if you are extremely sensitive, avoid this place.

They put our gluten-free crust pizzas in the same oven as everyone else’s pizzas. They weren’t on a tray or anything. And I had to ask for a glove change. Also they put the numbers that were sitting on the counter that the flour crusts touch (and that they touch with the same gloves that they use to touch the flour crusts) on our pizza and couldn’t understand why that would be a problem. I’m extra vigilant when it comes to my celiac daughter’s food. She’s in so much pain if she’s glutened.

Not safe for celiacs. They reach their contaminated hands into toppings and touch the gluten pizzas. All toppings are cross contaminated. They cook the gf pizza in the same oven without anything under it so it cooks in the same spot a regular pizza was cooked. They don’t recommend this place for celiacs and i can see why. Unsafe.

DO NOT EAT HERE if you have a wheat allergy or if you are celiac. I told them I have a wheat allergy and need minimized cross contamination. Guess what happened? They had a separate marinara sauce, then put toppings on and put my pizza IN THE OVEN DIRECTLY TOUCHING THE FLOUR AND OTHER WHEAT PIZZAS. I inquired to the manager, and he said that is their “process”. Eat at Pizza Rev or Mod Pizza, separate trays for us who can’t have CC!

Great pizza! Let them know to change gloves and get the sauce out of the bottle not to ladle on the sauce bc it touches the other pizza crusts. Helpful staff!

They may have gluten free crusts and a guise of "allergy" safety (they even ask), but their practices are not up to a high enough standard to be safe for either allergies or celiac. While making my kids pizza, cross contamination occurred through gloves (not changed between a wheat pizza and our gf pizza) and their oven is not safe. When I asked about their procedure for baking, I was informed that they "sweep it out" so it's safe... before putting our gf pizza directly in the oven (no base), allowing for more cross contamination. I spoke to the shift manager about what I saw and she didn't think it was a problem. It felt like a case of ignorance, not malace, but I definitely don't feel safe eating here.

Pieology offers both gluten free dough and vegan cheese. I was impressed that they have a separate squirt bottle of marinara sauce in order to avoid cross contamination. Plus, the staff changed their gloves. I didn’t encounter a problem and the employee was nice and wanted to ensure me that she was taking precautions against cross contamination. My gluten free, dairy free pizza tasted good and I would go back soon.

The pizza is amazing. Best around. Separate sauces and oils for us. They do use the same topping containers but they change gloves. I’ve never had an issue. They put the pizza on a tray to avoid contamination.

Specifically warns Celiac people not to eat the pizza. It is going to be contaminated. Not for you if you don't "choose" gluten free but HAVE to be gluten free 100%

Great job. They asked if gf was preference or allergy, and when I told them allergy they did a great job preventing cross contamination. New gloves, designated utensils, separate oil and sauces, no bad reaction, only delicious pizza.

Very good glutenfree pizza crust. However, they do not seem to keep it that seperated from the. normal pizzas, so I would not recommend for very sensitive people. However, since I am not that sensitive it was ok for me and I enjoyed the pizza very much!

When I told the server I had a gluten allergy she immediately changed her gloves and relayed it to the rest of the line. I’ve eaten here twice. The first time I did not get sick. The second time I did. They are doing the best they can to accommodate, just be careful.

Untrained staff at this location. The cook contaminated my pizza. Thankfully my wife was watching and brought it up to the manager. The manager quickly denied it, but the cook was honest and admitted that he messed up. Not a safe place for Celiacs.

Precautions are taken in preparing food but in the oven it is impossible to avoid cross contamination. Not safe for celiacs.

This place is chock-full of cross-contamination. I am non-celiac gluten intolerant and I can get very sick from just a little bit. The staff were knowledgeable and to be fair they told me that the pizza goes straight into the oven after they clean it as much as possible. They changed gloves for me. They told me They’d put the pizza in the pan. only detected a little bit of the discomfort I get with gluten, but it was there. I wouldn’t take a chance again here just because who knows if I could get more the next time. The food itself is friggin delicious and it’s a shame they can’t just have pans that the pie goes onto when it’s in the pizza oven. I think that would go a long way. California Pizza Kitchen is certified gluten free and nearby.

Everything was great, except they weren’t Celiac friendly. We are new to this diagnosis so we went with it...but they changed gloves got out gluten free bread put it on a special pan BUT THEN they used the same spoon that touches all the gluten dough:/ Isn’t that a big no no? Then they cooked it directly on the surface gluten touches??? That can’t be Celiac friendly:(

Not safe for celiacs at all. They said that gluten touches all pizzas in the oven. Only good if gluten free is a preference and not a requirement.

Manager, Shaniah, went above and beyond to make sure our pizzas were made carefully and not cross-contaminated. They have a separate gluten free oven, separate utensils and cutting area. Perfection!

They have enough knowledge about contamination to offer to change their gloves when preparing a gluten free pizza, but that's where the consideration ends. The pizza comes in contact with the same surface as non-gf pizzas in the oven, and on top of that, they use the same pizza slicer for all the pizzas. Additionally, the guy making my pizza changed his gloves, put on the toppings, touched a regular pizza, and then touched my pizza again.

Ask for a glove change and for the separate olive oil and sauce. We have been here more than a dozen times and never had a problem.

I've eaten here several times with no issues. I order the gluten-free crust and let the staff know it's an allergy (they ask) and they're very careful with the production. While their website doesn't recommend itself as celiac friendly, I haven't had any problem and feel safe eating here. You choose your own ingredients, which helps if you have other food allergies. I am sensitive to dairy but do well with their feta cheese topping.

GF crust was soggy. Minimal topping choices, and then staff is skimpy with toppings. They only get 2 stars, but not 1 because at least they did seem vaguely concerned about contamination. I didn't get sick, but the pizza wasn't very good.
