Delicious food. Basically everything on the menu except for the glutinous bread is GF.
I do have one small complaint though. I placed an order for my family and mine was the only one that needed to be GF. I ordered fries with my sandwich, but when the trays came out, the fries were right next to my dad’s gluten sandwich- practically touching. So unfortunately, I passed on eating those myself.
So my one piece of advice is if you are the only GF person in your party placing an order, PLACE YOUR OWN SEPARATE ORDER. Otherwise you can’t be sure where they will place your items and they might be next to gluten.
Was here about a month ago and literally EVERYTHING on the menu (except for the default sandwich bread, which can be substituted) is already gluten free...even the mac and cheese! They also have GF fried chicken, which I've all but given up on ever finding at this point, and it's super crispy and delicious and absolutely fulfills that craving I haven't been able to satisfy since my diagnosis! 🍗🤤👌
I feel awful for that poor kiddo who got glutened a few comments back and was never able to confirm the source, but unfortunately I'm just as confused as the staff seemed to be! 🫣 From what I understand based on other reviews/my own anecdotal experience, the only possible way that fryer could've been contaminated would be if a crumb fell in there by accident. I suppose it's also possible that somebody didn't change their gloves after touching the gluten bread, but that's all I got because that's literally the only contamination source they claim to have in their entire kitchen... 😓💔
Definitely make sure they're always aware that you have a serious "allergy" regardless of the menu options, since they aren't a 100% GF facility and people generally don't to think about cc unless they have to... But that being said, everything we got was super affordable and tasted amazing, and I felt completely fine afterwards, so I absolutely still plan on returning and would highly recommend checking them out. They may not be the fanciest of places (it's more of a "cafeteria-style" BBQ joint than a sit-down restaurant) but they're absolutely worth the trip! 👍
I’ve eaten here several times. The food is good, but not typical. It all has unique and slightly odd flavors, so don’t expect typical bbq or fried chicken. It is its own thing. Everything is very rich and heavy. It is also a bit annoying that you can’t get drinks with your food order, only at the bar.
Had eaten here at least 15 times safely when my daughter got glutened. Must have been the fryer - which owner has claimed is gluten free - since she only ate fries. When I called to discuss, the owner dismissed as though my daughter must have gotten sick some other way. Did not feel like took the concern seriously. Very concerning for a restaurant that states publicly its fryer is gluten free.
SO good! You’d never know it was gluten free. Get there at a decent time for brisket- they were sold out when we went on a Sunday evening. But the fried chicken and mac and cheese were great. The cornbread was also a nice treat. Got a jalapeno margarita (it’s made with infused Tito’s) and omg it was the best drink I’ve ever had. Delicious, just enough flavor for a slight kick, and one drink was the perfect serving to feel good without a strong buzz. The live music was a great touch. We didn’t mind how family and kid friendly it was. It’s nice to see families free to enjoy themselves
Best GF Mac and cheese I’ve found out and about. Their brisket, fried chicken, and smoked sausage are also highlights.
I didn’t love the sauce on the pulled pork or their slaw. The greens were also surprisingly spicy and quite acidic.
We used them to cater a party and the food was a hit. Tray prices were reasonable, too!
This place is so great. Everything on the menu is gluten free except the buns for the sandwiches. The fried chicken is the bomb, mac & cheese is better the next day. Pulled pork is great as well. Really fun place with bands and movies and looks like fun drink specials. I highly recommend and will be back. I wish there were more places like this around. (Didn’t love the cornbread - it’s super dense and a little sweet)
I was told ENTIRE menu was gluten-free, aside from buns on sandwiches (however they also offer gluten-free buns). I was also happy to have a gluten-free beer to go with my BBQ. It’s nice to be able to go to a restaurant and choose anything off the menu - and not have to worry…
We will definitely return!
