Very knowledgable staff and reasonable prices.
Not a dedicated gf restaurant, but they understand gf and take it seriously. My son loved his pizza, lots of options to choose from. The dessert menu had many gf options. The service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and I highly recommend this restaurant.
It tasted amazing, but if you are Celiac, do NOT eat here. They make their own regular pizzas in the main room, and I had an awful gluten reaction as soon as I woke up, which usually means (for me) that the cross-contamination is what got me, not the product itself. Could even have been flour dust that had settled on the water glass. If you're not super-sensitive, you may be fine, but for me, I won't be going back. Too bad, because as I said, the taste was amazing.
Delicious GF and non-GF pizza. A casual, sit down restaurant but the service was pretty quick. Lots of locations throughout London. Like every restaurant we went to in London, it took gluten-free seriously and ensured there was no cross-contamination.
Pizza Express is a coeliac uk approved chain of restaurants. The staff are trained in how best to prepare gluten free food and are generally knowledgeable. They have various options including starters such as dough balls, pizzas and pasta, and a few different desserts.
Pizza Express use a tasty gluten free base made at their own GF bakery a their GF symbol on the menu denotes dishes that have measures in place to try to avoid gluten-contamination as accredited by Coeliac UK. I have eaten here many times and never been glutened - I’d give five stars if they had more interesting desserts !!!
Amazing food! Ate here after a long day of travelling and the waitress was so accommodating to my gluten and dairy free needs. Food tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend.
our waiter was very attentive and the atmosphere was enjoyable. the pizza was floppy, but it was so very good for gluten free. i had a brownie for desert, which was a little dry, ( there’s not much you can do, gf brownies aren’t usually superb). i also had some ice cream which was amazing. the options here are among the best in london (dough balls!!) . i would highly recommend this if your craving some pizza.
The server was understanding when I let her know I’m celiac, and even shared that her father is celiac, as well. They put the gluten free pizzas on special black serving plates to signify safe preparation & handling. The pizza tasted great though the crust was droopy/spongy. Nice atmosphere and quick service.
Our server mentioned that her father was celiac. And, she was cheerful & understanding. The pizza was pretty good. Crust was a bit spongy (as are most gf pizza crusts), but the sauce & toppings were so good, it made up for that. Nice atmosphere, quick service.
Had the gluten free pasta with bolognese sauce and it was quite good.
We ate at Pizza Express 3 or 4 times during our week in Edinburgh. It was reliable and safe. We got the vegetable pizza and regular margherita made with vegan cheese, which was good. The crust wasn’t stunning but was good.
Friends told us we had to try Pizza Express for GF dining while in London. Their GF Dough Balls made my son who has Celiac happy & full. GF pasta & pizza options. Good for takeout or sit-down. All GF food comes out from the kitchen clearly labels “GF”.
Lovely dough balls and pizza. Not as full on top with gluten free pizza as with regular though. Also does lovely gluten free pesto pasta
Have a nice selection of GF pasta and pizza dishes. Staff are friendly and easy to read menu.
Not a big selection of pizzas but a tastey crust. The gluten free menu states that there is a risk of cross contamination as it's not a gluten free environment.
Great dough balls and pizza they are aware of celiac and the food is amazing!
Items marked GF on the menu along with a paragraph describing their GF options. Had the Pananda on GF crust and it was super yummy. Server was aware of and knowledgeable on GF needs as well as vegan (for my luncheon counterpart). Would recommend!
Accredited by the Coeliac UK. GF & GF Vegan Options. I had the GFV pizza and it was very good. I wish it had a little more veggies and the crust was great but the other the rest of the base was ok. No negative reaction and overall good quality.
Gluten-free pizza was great and the GF menu options were clearly marked. They also had gluten-free Peroni beer, which I hadn’t had before.
Seperate GF pizza menu although it only had about 5 pizzas on it and they were all very basic with only a couple of ingredients on each. I had the “American” pepperoni and it was delicious
Glutenfree pizza available with any topping. Served on a slate plate, so you can see immediately if is the right order. The gf pizzas are slightly smaller than the normal ones but all staff are trained by Coeliac UK, so you have peace of mind. Also gf dough balls available for starters and gf desserts.
Avoid. Given polenta chips after asking if they were ok, was told yes. I could tell they didn't taste right so checked online and they contain wheat. Feel awful today
The staff was knowledgeable about celiac disease and cross contamination. My gf dough balls and gf pizza was good but not fantastic so I’m giving them 4 stars. I didn’t get sick!
Not celiac friendly. I was so excited to eat here, but when I got there they said there was cross contamination and they couldn’t promise it was safe. They were really nice though.
In April 2018, my sister and I met up with some local friends after a long night/day of traveling from Boston, MA. This place had excellent service, was family friendly, knowledgeable about allergies and has an allergy plate code that they went over with me to make sure I did not eat anything that I should not.
One of the better gluten free crusts i had. Very nice English speaking staff. They prepare the gluten free pizza in a separate area than the other pizzas.
Knowledgeable staff, great service, most pleasant experience and gluten free dairy free food that tasted fabulous! Will definitely visit again.
