Very knowledgeable staff. The woman taking my order asked if I needed a glove change and she was sure to let the person making my sandwich know to change their gloves. Their sauces are labeled making it very convenient. Restaurant was clean and menu online made it super easy to choose what I wanted. They also have pictures of what all the bread looks like, so you can tell what is what!
Unsafe establishment. Would not recommend. Staff completely untrained on safe gf food handling.
My gf chicken order had cornbread on it. I ordered it again. When I opened it, the box had pieces of the corn bread stuck to the bottom. Their solution to making it gf was just taking it off. Instead of remaking it safely.
Food is delicious, but I am not confident it is safe for those with celiac. I have celiac disease and have tried this restaurant several times over the past few years. I would say it has made me feel sick a handful of times. Finally decided to conclusively post about it after trying it again (and for my last time) today. A couple hours after eating their gluten free pulled pork sandwich and fries, I am insanely nauseous and having a lot of GI symptoms. I am not sure if they have just gotten less careful over the years about cross contamination or if ingredients/procedures have changed or maybe the level of safety depends on who you get preparing food, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence or a fluke anymore that when I eat there I oftentimes feel sick afterwards. The staff are very kind and they definitely do try their best to have good gluten free options, but depending on the severity of your gluten free needs, I would be extremely cautious. Of course eating out is always a risk with celiac and everyone has different levels of risk management, but just wanted to share my experience.
They are awesome. The person taking our order asked if we would like a glove change and they were so friendly and accommodating! They also mentioned somebody said the cheese sauce was not GF because it had matadextrin. However, matadextrin is GF so no worries. We will definitely go back again
I told the person who was taking my order that I needed gluten-free. He was delighted to tell me they have a gf menu. I was equally delighted, and knew exactly what I wanted. Then he offered me cheese, which was on the gf menu. I said yes. When I got my order I was surprised to have a cheese sauce on my food. I took a few bites of it and went to the counter. A woman brought me the label. Modified food starch. Maltodextrin. Yeast. Yeast extract? Instead of having a productive day tomorrow like I dreamed of, I am certain to be sick for days. I explained that it is important they take this item off the gf menu. I’m not confident she understood what a big mistake it was, as she told me everything else on my plate was okay.
So delicious! The owner and his granddaughter were at the ordering station. When I said I was gluten free, the granddaughter (maybe 9 years old?) said, "I have to eat gluten free too!"
The separate gluten free menu was robust and clear. I asked the granddaughter what she likes the best and she said the brisket, so I ordered that and, boy oh boy, was it amazing!
Used to be our go to place for pulled pork, but twice now my celiac son has spent hours throwing up and dry heaving after dinner. Thought the first time it was something else he ate, but not now. We even liked that they had a gluten free bun, but must be some cross contamination with the roll happening or something in the pork? And no, he didn't use a bbq sauce. Just plain pork and GF bun.
Tons of gf options, and delicious, sandwich bun wasn't your standard Udi's. Excellent BBQ.
