I am a diagnosed Celiac, so among my criteria for new restaurant selection includes a menu with clearly-marked gluten free menu items as well as a knowledgeable staff who understands the importance of avoiding cross contamination of allergens as well as which menu items contain gluten.

Well, while your menu does not carry clearly-marked gluten free items, I did see three reviews claiming the wait and kitchen staff understand gluten and can easily accommodate. This was unfortunately NOT my experience here tonight. We left after fifteen minutes and one glass of wine. Our waitress was a female who had the side of her head shaven and had glasses, although unfortunately we left our copy of the receipt (last name Miller) with the check so we don’t know her name. When we originally spoke to our waitress to see what I was able to eat that was gluten free, she told me I should be able to eat the crab macaroni and cheese and just get without breadcrumbs. After we explained to her (after she verified these were normal noodles used) that normal macaroni was made from wheat, we asked her to please speak with the chef to see what items I could safely order. We literally witnessed her walk around to three other tables inside and then come back outside to us, never having spoken to the chef and suggested a salad. At this point, we decided to leave, frustrated and hungry. I expected better treatment and judging from the reviews I believe I should have more options than just the salad. What gives?

Can you train your staff on the importance of taking Celiac disease seriously? We ended up going home to cook and this is after going through the trouble to get a babysitter tonight too....
