They have a separate gluten free menu and staff seemed knowledgeable. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. It came out quickly, almost too quickly. Made me wonder if it was a pre-made , microwaved dish. The pasta and sauce itself was good, but I really did not like the meatballs. I have eaten and made gluten free meatballs many times, but theirs were not very good at all. I am not even sure I can pinpoint why, but they were very dry and bland. At the end of the day, I didn’t get sick, but definitely overpriced for what I got.
We ate here today with my small son and husband- both gf and df. The waiter was really knowledgable and was able to sort two really delicious meals for them, which they both really enjoyed! My only gripe was that mine and my daughter’s ‘normal meals’ came out at different times, so not all our food was there to be water together. But the food was all really tasty and he really knew his stuff!
Ate here while in town. Read the reviews on Find Me Gluten Free and it was close by. Clearly communicated I had Celiacs with waitstaff and ordered off their GF menu. About 10 minutes into eating my meal I could feel the gluten and knew something had gone wrong. The person with me ordering off the gluten menu enjoyed their dinner. I personally wouldn’t feel safe trying this restaurant again without my Nima.
No GF menu, but the staff were able to identify several options which were either GF or could be made GF. Offered GF pasta, cooked in fresh water. We ate at a slow time (2PM), but were told that the head chef personally prepared our meals, after learning that we had 3 celiacs in our party. All-in-all, everyone enjoyed their food, and no one felt ill afterwards.
We visited for dinner while vacationing in San Francisco. Great restaurant with a decent gluten free menu. Serving staff was knowledgeable. We all had pasta dishes and they were delicious. They also have gluten free beer. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Great Celiac safe food! Our waiter was Angel and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. Made it clear when he brought something to our table that was not safe for me. 😀The salmon and the Caesar salad were delicious. There was even gf chocolate cake --- leave room for it.
Most amazing Italian food I've ever had, easily. Large selection of gf items including some amazing deserts (for example, a chocolate molten lava cake). Would give this place even more stars for their wonderful staff and setting. Overall, wow.
I'm not from California so perhaps not used to wait staff being so knowledgable about celiac. Our server made me feel so safe. I've never been handled with such care before. The food was delicious - salad, salmon and gelato. Might have been pricey but well worth it!
One word - AMAZING!! We had 2 gluten free dishes. Short Rib Braised Beef which was no kidding the best meal I have ever had. We also had the Spaghetti & Meatballs. They had many GF options for both dinner and dessert. For dessert I had a chocolate truffle which was more like a huge chocolate brownie with icecream it was mouthwatering!! Sometimes being Coeliac is hard but this place made it so easy and such good quality meals I could have nearly cried I was that happy!
They have a separate gluten free printed menu with many of the same foods on the traditional menu. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. The only good thing about the dish was the spaghetti noodles. The bolognese sauce had a very strong tomato taste and the meat was crumbly. The meatballs were terrible!!! I don't know what spice was used in them but someone was VERY heavy handed!!!! The service was also terrible. The first waitress was knowledgable and pleasant. She stated that she was covering for someone on break. After placing order and getting drinks we only saw the person delivering our food except when we asked or caught someone going by.
My kids are gluten-intolerant so we came here. They have a gluten-free menu with a fair number of options. The salmon and veggies was delicious. They cook the GF noodles in separate water they say. Had an Udi's GF pizza so my son was happy. One drawback is they charged $20 for my daughter's child portion of GF spaghetti with butter. That was ridiculous. Overall though, great experience and delicious food. Will come back whenever in town.
The GF pasta is boiled separately: penne or spaghetti. Only a few appetizers are GF but almost all the desserts are! Creme brule, gelato and lava cake. Beware the pomodoro sauce is spicy :) And it is a bit spendy but on par for union square.
This place was amazing. The staff was very knowledgeable about all of the gluten free options. The spaghetti and meatballs were fantastic and the flourless chocolate cake and gelato was absolutely incredible. I would definitely recommend this place to a Celiac person any day. 5 stars isn't enough to explain how delicious the food here was.
