My favorite Deli. I come for the cabbage soup and pastrami Rachel on toasted gluten-free bread. They have a good pickle bar also.
Ate here for the first time yesterday. Had the Greek omelette with a fruit bowl and GF toast. I mentioned to the host that I have CD. His reply was disconcerting (we promise TO throw wheat flour in the air) but I suppose that’s his personality. The waitress was knowledgeable and I felt comfortable ordering. I will need to return to try a lunch but my first impression was - it was an average, but safe, breakfast.
I ate here before I had celiac and I can attest it is delicious. However I do not feel that it is entirely safe for celiacs. The egg grill is for egg dishes only, but potatoes are fried on a grill that is shared with French toast. They have a dedicated toaster but are often out of gf breads and bagels.
Got stuck with a fruit bowl that consisted of melon, melon, and three grapes. 🙄
GF toast and GF bagels. Staff is very knowledgeable about celiac. Food is DELICIOUS. if you’ve been craving jewish deli food, you have to come here. I had zero symptoms after eating!
Really loved Pumpernicks. Its like a diner and felt nice to eat in a place like that. The nova lox with Udis bagel is the best lox I’ve ever had. I also got a hot corned beef sandwich with coleslaw and their homemade russian dressing on gf toast. Next trip I tried the NYorker-get this! So big and so much flavor. Sandwiches come with a side of chips. The pickle bar was gf as well. I wish they’d mark the menu and had some homemade gf sweets but will definitely keep coming back!
Absolutely delicious. Staff was knowledgeable. Gf toast with a separate dedicated toaster for gf bread and bagels. Worth the trip!
This is a wonderful restaurant. The huge menu is appetizing for any taste. The Jewish deli is careful and well-informed about allergies. I was told they toast the gluten free bread in a dedicated toaster. I believe they prepare the meal away from gluten, but I am not absolutely certain of that. I react violently to gluten. I enjoyed the sandwich with no negative reaction. It was so big I ate half for lunch, half for dinner.
Always have a great experience at Pumpernick’s . Classic deli that is very accommodating. There is NO gluten free menu but the staff is very knowledgeable . They have someone with Celiac on staff and has educated them well. They have gluten free bread and bagels (separate toaster), breakfast potatoes and are conscious of cross contamination. The fries are not safe but there are so many other options. Love lunch and just got breakfast for the first time today. Eggs Benedict on a gf bagel 👍🏻👍🏻
