Had a great experience at this restaurant! We ordered the brisket (the worker helping us made sure to give us a sauce that was gluten free) and the brisket queso. The chips that came with the queso were prepackaged and certified GF. Wide variety of options on the menu and very knowledgeable individuals working at this establishment! When they learned we were gluten free, they asked if we had Celiac or another form of intolerance/allergy. I would absolutely visit Q Smokehouse again and recommend it to others visiting downtown Ludington - I didn't have any negative reaction to the delicious food I ate!

Great little BBQ place very knowledgeable about GF. Menu has GF listed next to all the items that they make gluten free but the cashier said most items can be made gluten free by making a few changes. I have celiac’s and even cross contamination makes me sick. I would go back and eat here again if I lived in the area. We stopped on our way through for our vacation.

Staff was very knowledgeable about what items are safe for my wife who is Gluten/dairy/soy free, not only knowledgeable but also very friendly during the process. Food was great too!

I have gotten half chicken and brisket several times without issue here. I am sensitive celiac. I have found the staff knowledgeable and willing to change gloves etc when asked. Their menu clearly lists what is GF. They have 2 sauces, only one is GF and it is so good!

Owner greeted us at the door, very friendly and told me exactly was GF and told staff before preparing mine that if was GF so that they got clean utensils and wiped down prep area. The brisket is amazing, I had it several times. Last visit got the brisket tacos, also amazing! It may seem a little pricey but the work that goes into smoking the meats, the taste explains it all!

I went to the front and asked what was safe for someone with celiacs disease to eat here at which point she shrugged and said the words you would know better than me. It’s the worst I have ever felt being a celiac trying to eat out

Great portion sizes. Very knowledgeable on GF and other allergies and they do mark them. They will wipe down all counters and use clean utensils when getting the food. Will also point out anything that is not gluten free. Super friendly too!

Nice little place. The staff was great, the food was great, and the menu was clearly labeled for food sensitivities. Would recommend.

Loved selection and flexible portion sizes. Coleslaw was great! Bbq sauce was good but would have liked something other than mustard based Carolina sauce. Meat was good enough I barely needed it though.

The staff knew exactly what items were gluten free, and took the time to go over the menu with us. They changed their gloves right away. The food was very good and the staff was very friendly!

Great little bbq joint. Staff/owner were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Changed gloves right away without us asking and took the time to go through the menu with us. Menu is labeled with gf options. Most things are gf. Even had rice krispy treats that were gf. Owner knew his homemade sauce was not safe due to malt vinegar. Meat was delicious.
Meat was good, had no problems with being glutened. Side options were limited and a little strange, especially the potato salad.
Yes
The good parts: the menu shows which items are supposed to be GF, they changed gloves as soon as we mentioned gluten-free, and all the staff present seemed to have been trained on it. The smoked chicken was excellent, the pork okay.
The disappointing: they only had one sauce that's GF, which is mustard based. There were only 3 sides GF, a soupy applesauce, coleslaw, and a nasty weird potato salad that was swimming in vinaigrette and spices. Plus 2 of the 3 celiacs in our group had a lot of indigestion afterward.
Compared to Bandana's BBQ we've had at several locations, there's no contest. Bandana's have more meats, ALL sauces and nearly every side is GF, even the baked beans, and we don't get sick.
No
Delicious place! Everyone was so kind and helpful. Regular menu has GF indicators, all the meat from the smoker is GF, no buns or bread option- but you don't need it. Also has many GF sides to choose from. Go check this place out, you won't be disappointed! They also had a certified allergy certificate hanging up near the register. Whole staff was knowledgeable.
