Great food but be careful. There is a lot of cross contamination (fries, bacon wrapped shrimp, the ends of any of the meats) I ate the apple slaw and cucumber/onion salad were yummy. I got the ribs, chipotle sausage and the sliced brisket. All were gluten free. The waiter made sure to inform the chef so he didn’t give me any “ends”.
Although many items are marked as gluten-free, that’s not actually true. They put gluten items on the grill so anything that is grilled will contaminate your meal. Which rules out the ribs, grilled chicken, and more. The salad is marked GF but comes automatically with croutons so be sure to ask for those off. I came here for the ribs and was extremely excited and then disappointed. I ended up ordering the salad to be safe. It was really yummy but I left hungry. My dairy-free spouse had a 10/10 time and said the meat was amazing.
Not a good experience at all, for those with celiac and those without. Food was contaminated and the restaurant makes you feel like you are an inconvenience rather than making an attempt to provide a good experience. I had heard good reviews of this place but the food was only decent. Kids got sick after eating, so definitely not worth it.
Overall while everything was labled it didn’t seem as though our waitress knew much about gluten free. I asked a couple of questions and her answers were rude and short. She acted as though my questions were a burden when I was only trying to make sure my food was safe. Although the food was great I wouldn’t recommend this place for even those with just an intolerance like myself.
Got super sick. There is another review where they mention the meats are grilled and contaminated, that was confirmed by management. The staff will say all the barbecue is gluten-free, but really the only thing safe to order is the pulled pork because it isn't grilled. If you have celiac disease, do not eat here and go to joes.
I have both wheat and soy allergies . I ate here may 3, 2019. I researched the menu and spoke to the waiter about my allergies who helped me select brisket and burnt ends. It was delicious but from about 1 am to 4 am I experienced spectacular vomiting and diarrhea similar to food poisoning. Three others of our party had the same thing but didn’t get sick. It also took me about 2 weeks to fully recover. I’m not eating BBQ for a long while.
If you have gluten or soy allergies and choose to eat here, order a salad
Ate here at Midtown location and got very sick Menu has gf clearly marked and server said all their meats are gf and sauces ! I think they need to reinvestigate if they truly are gf and they truly are educated about gf !! Very disappointed. My daughter also got ill and she is just gluten sensitive . I have celiacs
I should have listened to the people who reviewed the downtown location. They are clueless about celiac and still have gf markings on their menu. Told me the meat was gf, but it came drizzled with BBQ sauce. When asked about the sauce I was told they couldn't be sure. I didn't get sick, but I didn't eat much of the food because it wasn't that good anyways.
Menu is clearly marked but cross contamination is not a big consideration. No dedicated fryer. Wife only ordered items marked gluten free and she still had reaction. Food is overrated.
Delicious. Clearly labeled menu. Excellent brisket and burnt ends. Baked beans were the best I've had in a long time.
I love going here with my friends and great gluten free options!!
They have a gluten free menu. However the cross contamination is high. The staff offered me gluten free beer that was clearly marked beer. I had to Google it to find out that it was root beer flavored beer. I ordered smoked chicken that was listed gluten free. Only to be told they recently found out it wasn't gluten free. I ended up with brunt ends and overly dry brisket. I was sick for two days. Worst reaction I've ever had.
