I am a very sensitive gluten allergy non diagnosed celiac. I had a Sicilian crust pizza. OMGOODNESS!!!! This is by far the best pizza I've ever had. The gf cheese breadsticks were so thick and fluffy!!!! We were in town from Iowa. The staff was so helpful!! We will definately be back the next time we're in town!
The owner was awesome and was very proud of his gluten free offerings and assured me it is celiac safe. They change gloves, have a separate pan, prepare the doe on separate days before the gluten doe, and its on separate side of the oven. I had the bread sticks with artichoke dip, the thick crust pizza, and the tres leches cake. Owner said the tres leches cake is always gf they just don’t advertise it for the non gf people. Didn’t get sick and it was all really good ! Definitely will be back.
Got the Gluten Free Sicilian Crust….and it is to die for. RC himself answered the phone when I called to ask about it and he told me he would notify the employees to take extra precautions when preparing it due to my disease/intolerance. An amazing experience and the crust was so fluffy and so good I honestly still didn’t believe it while I was eating it. Only downfall is how far away they are from Downtown Houston but honestly worth the trip.
RC’s was amazing. We drove over an hour to eat here because I am celiac and haven’t had a GOOD pizza in years. It was well worth the drive in flavor alone, but the atmosphere and the inclusivity and attention from RC made the experience a 100/10. Upon walking in, RC greeted us and right when I inquired about GF offerings, he said “are you celiac” I said yes, he said “awesome I know everything you need to know” (so confidently!) and went into a 5 minute speech about kitchen protocols. They make their gluten free Italian pizza dough at a completely different time of night, they use only certain size pans for gluten free food that NO other menu items need therefor will not be used.
We will be back, we plan to bring the kids next time and become regulars. Thank you RC for including this gluten free community in the world of good service and amazing food.
I waited to write this review so I could monitor how I felt in the days and weeks after. Happy to report that I did NOT get sick. And had no gluten symptoms in the weeks following. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination as most celiacs are, and would eat here again and again.
One last thing, while I placed my order RC stood behind the cashier and used it as a moment to educate his young male cashier on what celiac is, gluten is, and how to enter the order properly. I almost cried it was such a great moment to witness.
RC's has the best gluten free crust I have ever had! They take care to limit cross contamination. We love the Big Cheese (think cheese bread/cheese sticks) and the Californian. They can make your pizza on their round gluten free crust or Sicilian. Absolutely amazing!! Plus it's super cute inside!
I finally had to go try this thick gf pizza! Oh my goodness!!!! It was absolutely delicious! I got the lady liberty veggie pizza. The owner was very knowledgeable about celiac and assured me on all the precautions they take to prevent cross contamination. The toppings were super fresh. The crust was tender on the inside and had a crispy crust. They even sell the dough to take home.
We went to RCs in the Woodlands. We ordered a cheese and meaty New Yorker on gluten free crust as we have 2 people with Celiac. Although we didn’t know the meatballs in the meaty New Yorker had gluten, the manager caught it before delivering it to our table. They insisted on making another with out the meatballs. They even changed gloves when handling our pizza. We were very happy with the attention they paid to us and gluten free.
Had their GF pizza last week when in town visiting. My very picky daughter said it is the best GF pizza she has ever, ever had. We've tried many GF pizzas from different places and she couldn't get enough of this one. She asked if we could go back for more.
Overall the gluten free crust was good but a little burned. The toppings are pricey and add up quick. 1.50-2.00 Also, kind of a bummer we couldn't pay by card over the phone but that's a small inconvenience would try again.
wow! one of the best gluten free pizzas I have ever had. the crust is thin and crisp, the toppings and sauce were wonderful. great and knowledgeable staff! worth every penny.
