THIS PLACE IS NOT GF FRIENDLY. While they have gluten free items, they have continued to make mistakes, even when I ask the wait staff to notify them that it's an allergy. After 4 chances, I am officially done. I have gotten, and eaten, burgers with a normal bun. I have ordered wings, and after eating, am notified that they contain soy sauce.
Went for lunch on a Monday at 2pm. Had the turkey burger. Delicious! Just right amount of food, not too heavy. I’m celiac and super sensitive and all was fine. Waitress was helpful and friendly, checked about the grills. Non-gf hubby enjoyed his burger in gf bread.
The staff was so knowledgeable. They even let us know that their sweet potato fries, while GF, they come from a distributor. Thus, they wanted us aware in case of cross contamination. We were so grateful for the attention to details. Highly recommend the bison burger!
Ordered pulled pork sandwich with gluten free bun and server said she would make sure to let kitchen know that it needed to be gluten free. Order came out on a regular bun. The person suggested I keep the salad (touching the bun) and he would bring a new sandwich. I’ve lost my trust in red cow’s understanding of gluten free preparation. Celiac’s should stay away.
Visited for a late lunch/early dinner, so it wasn’t busy. All items on regular menu that can be made GF are marked as so. Server was very attentive and they have a dedicated fryer for their fries. I got the GF grilled cheese and tomato soup, and a side of fries and didn’t get sick at all! I will definitely be going back.
Love their burgers and fries. Every once in a while they do mess up and give a regular bun. Make sure you remind them they have to remake everything as they have tried just switching out the bun. I have been here many times and only had that issue a couple times. The servers genuinely seem to care. Overall I would recommend it to anyone.
The food here was delicious, and the staff was very knowledgeable about celiac. The menu is clearly marked and the two sensitive celiacs I was with had no issues from eating there. We all ordered the 60/40 beef/bacon burger on gluten free bun with fries. We also tried the truffle oil and Parmesan fries. Very nice to be able to get a burger and fries without worrying about cross contamination.
This place is the best!!! The burgers and sandwiches are insane. With a fantastic gluten free bun and gluten fee sandwich bread you can have almost everything on the menu. My girls and I have celiac and have varying degrees of sensitivity to contamination. None of us had any issues. There are three locations in the area. Must visit!!!
The staff is great about all gf options. They have 3 can\bottle gluten free beers and 4 ciders options. The corn beef for the is beer braised despite have a gf label next to it but that only applies to the veggie options which my server let me know right on the spot. Went two nights in a row because of how great it was!
I had an AMAZING dinner here. I tried the sweet potato fries (a little spicy for me but delish) as they have a DEDICATED FRYER, and a breakfast burger, complete with egg, bacon, and peanut butter. Surprisingly one of the best burger combos I’ve ever had! The staff was very knowledgeable about my celiac and dairy allergy. I would highly recommend this place.
Food was just ok. The gluten free bun was really soggy and basically disintegrated into the burger. They have GF fries which were good but cooked a little overdone. Our server was not friendly. Drinks were not cheap. It was an alright experience but I won’t be returning.
The menu is clearly marked with gluten free options (about half of the menu can be ordered GF). I had the turkey burger on a GF bun with regular fries in a dedicated GF fryer (both very yummy). I also had the Glutenberg Pale Ale beer (also very good). Overall great meal and ambiance. Others have stated the prices are high, but I think they’re fine since the food and service was quality. My bill was $23.50 with tax.
I had a ahi tuna burger and GF French fries! I requested no bun, and they offered a gf bun or lettuce wrap. Waiter was good with the GF DF requests. The fries ( both regular and sweet potato) are really good.
Best burger I’ve ever had. Beef was supreme and flavorful. Cheese was top notch. Dressing was perfect for the burger. Fries are very good and dedicated fryer. Bun was okay but good for GF, so it was still dry and crumbled. But the hamburger outshined the bread!
Celiac Friendly. Many of the burgers can be done gluten free. The poutine is great. They usually have at least one gluten free cider and it is often something interesting and hard to find. Open late nights, one of the best places for a late night meal.
The menu was clearly marked what was gluten free and staff was very knowledgeable. All I had to do was say I wanted the gluten free option. They even had gluten free buns and bread that tasted very good. Felt safe eating there!
I had the turkey burger on the GF bun with Parmesan truffle fries. Bun was a bit dry which is typical of many GF buns, but I was so excited for the dedicated fryer so I could enjoy fries! I didn't have any reaction.
Eat here! get the poutine. get the root beer pulled pork. get one of the specialty ciders (I had the Mac Jac). then cancel all other dinner /lunch plans you have while in the twin cities and eat your next meal here, and the next. Celiac safe, separate fryers, knowledgeable team.
Our server was awesome and explained how they had their gluten free options. I'm new yo gluten free and had a very delicious and enjoyable dinner out with my husband. Definitely will be back. Lots of options to choose from including cider, salads, burgers and so much more!
Been to every Red Cow in town, and thus far, every spot has been great for celiacs. Rare GF frier means we can get fries and a burger. Almost all their burgers are optioned as GF, so be sure to order clearly. Also, most of the servers actually KNOW what celiac is. Points.
I am a celiac and got wicked glutened by there burger. Its possible that they didn't catch that I ordered GF, but I have just went through 2 awful days of serious gluten poisoning--this was no cross contamination. The burger was good, the fries were good, but gluten poisoning is not worth even an amazing dining experience. Celiac peeps, make sure that you double check with the server about your order.
