My partner is Celiac. There were no options to do special requests on DoorDash so I called to verify what contained Gluten and precautions they take. My partner wanted the Sesame Tuna Poke Bowl. Over the phone they confirmed they use Tamari instead of Soy Sauce that might contain wheat and that dish was Gluten free. Server also asked my name to notify the kitchen to take extra care when my DoorDash order came in. Order came with everything labeled as to safety, my burger being the only thing to contain Gluten and labeled as such.
I’ve had their burgers, truffle fries, and tuna poke bowl many times with zero reactions, and seriously yummy! GF buns made in-house, separate fryer, and a designated prep area in the kitchen. Notify the person (or write in the delivery comments) that you have Celiac Disease and they’ll automatically make the appropriate substitutions or modifications. For example, sesame seeds and nori are never added to my GF Tuna Poke Bowl.
Waitress was great. Dedicated fryer for gluten free. Gluten free bun was good.
We just moved to the area and have been smelling like yummy scents everyday, and the food itself did not disappoint! The house chips and dip were SO GOOD with a nice seasoning of peppercorn and fresh out of the dedicated gluten free fryer. The waitress was highly knowledgeable on cross contamination as well as the best way to eat the BLT (GF bun holds up better than the bread) I ordered. I look forward to returning to Red Cow!
I’ve eaten here many times without any issue. Most of the menu is available GF. Servers are knowledgeable. They have a dedicated fryer. Great spot if you are GF!
Not Celiac safe, I got very sick.
I had a burger, fries, lemonade, and a vanilla milkshake. I was told they use a separate fryer, and confirmed with the waitress that I needed everything gluten free for an “allergy” (vs a preference).
The “gf” food tasted good, but unfortunately I’ll never return to try it again after this experience.
Most of the menu is available gluten free and the staff took the gluten free orders seriously. Please note that there is not a mark beside each item, rather there is a note at the bottom of the menu to tell you.
Gluten free meals were brought out separately from the gluten-eaters meals and a separate fryer is used.
Best GF burger I have ever had. Chips and dip appy and Brussels sprouts appy were phenomenal.
They've recently added the option to flag an allergy on take out orders. They take allergies seriously and have a dedicated fryer for fries, tots, and GF wings.
I eat here almost weekly with a lot of options I feel safe with which are delicious and fast. The one time a mistake was made (flatbread crackers were mistakenly included on my salad), the manager came out to speak with me and was mortified at the mistake. They fixed it quickly and provided additional training to the server. This was one mistake out of dozens of trips.
First time at this establishment. We went to the South Minneapolis, 50th and France location. Service was excellent. I didn't notice that the menu had GF markings for individual dishes but was told by our server that certain dishes could be made gluten free. Allie was very helpful in this regard as my guest also had other dietary restrictions due to allergies. The burger was good ( could have been seasoned a bit more) and I was thrilled to finally have french fries. It's been years. I haven't experienced any discomfort from even the mildest of cross contamination.
Have eaten here lots of times and have never gotten sick. I did have one time when my burger was brought out on a regular bun, but I quickly noticed it and the kitchen made me a new one. Make sure you speak to a manager if it’s your first time here, but honestly, I’ve eaten here at least 20 times and never had an issue. And they have a dedicated fryer and gluten free boneless wings? I’m in.
They gave me a normal bun twice. The first time I called back and they were really nice. It's just sad that they did it again. I really like their food, but it has now been 2 out of the 5 times I have ordered from them. And it's just embarrassing for me to go back tell them again.
First want to clarify that the restaurant is nice, food is great and is a nice place IF you don’t have any allergies or dietary requirements. We took our family including our daughter who is a diagnosed celiac and the restaurant (although they said they could) was not able to deliver a safe experience or meal for her. Shortly after finishing her meal she had discomfort, I double checked with our waiter to verify AGAIN that everything was handled correctly and was re-assured it was ok. She is now very sick and profuse vomiting and other things I won’t go into. Long story short, fine place if you don’t have dietary requirements otherwise STAY AWAY!!! My 6 year old is now terrified of restaurants and has made it clear she never wants to eat out again, tough moment for a little kid.
Fabulous experience! There is SO much on the menu that is gluten free, and they have a dedicated fryer! We spoke with a manager and he said they take gluten free items and celiac disease very seriously. He mentioned they have staff members with celiac disease that have helped educate on celiac and the precautions that need to be taken. I had boneless buffalo wings for the first time in years!! SO good and I’d highly recommend!!!
I eat here a lot because I've always had great luck here, but just had a particularly outstanding service experience. My family ordered takeout from here tonight and the food came home with my "allergy" listed on the ticket, but the gf bread looked different than usual. We also received something in our bag that we hadn't ordered, so my radar was already up that they might be having an "off" night. I was going to just trust it and eat my food, hoping they were right, but I decided to double check. I called and talked to the front of house manager. It was 6:15pm - middle of dinner rush - and they were clearly swamped. But he took a full 10 minutes on the phone with me including double checking with the chef and all kinds of other details about the order to finally be able to fully assure me that I did indeed receive the gluten free (celiac safe) version of what I ordered. Many restaurants would've treated me much differently, especially knowing that they were right about what they received. I was blown away about how kind and respectful this manager was.
They have a separate fryer and their menu is labeled with GF for items they can make gluten free. My daughter loved the gluten free bun!
THIS PLACE IS NOT GF FRIENDLY. While they have gluten free items, they have continued to make mistakes, even when I ask the wait staff to notify them that it's an allergy. After 4 chances, I am officially done. I have gotten, and eaten, burgers with a normal bun. I have ordered wings, and after eating, am notified that they contain soy sauce.
Ordered pulled pork sandwich with gluten free bun and server said she would make sure to let kitchen know that it needed to be gluten free. Order came out on a regular bun. The person suggested I keep the salad (touching the bun) and he would bring a new sandwich. I’ve lost my trust in red cow’s understanding of gluten free preparation. Celiac’s should stay away.
Best GF burger I've had in a long time! They have a dedicated fryer! I will definitely be going back!
I had a great experience here. Our server knew a ton about Celiac and went back to ask the chef about a couple items I was interested in just to be sure. She was pleasant and friendly, and didn’t mind. I had the turkey burger without a bun and truffle fries. It was lovely!
