Not celiac friendly at all. Side salads always have croutons in them despite asking for none every time, sometimes we can see the crumbs in there like they just picked them out! We've eaten there many many times and gotten sick every time. They sometimes set rolls and other gluten food and top of our food even when told we have allergies. One time when we asked for a replacement because the food was glutened the waiter said they could just "throw it on the grill to cook the gluten off" really disappointing because I used to love eating here.
GLUTEN/CELIAC FRIENDLY! I was very surprised at their response when I inquired about gluten free options. My celiac disease makes it so that I just eat salad while everyone else gets the goodies. They immediately showed me a gluten free menu, and the manager came out and assured me that she would inform the cook to change his gloves, use all the cross contamination preventatives, etc. The waitress was very careful in double checking my selections for gluten. I appreciated their attentiveness so much! Made for a fantastic lunch. I ate well that day and didn't suffer a bit for it.
They have a few different choices. They have come out with a new menu but don’t have a gluten free menu so they gave me the allergy list binder so I had to play detective to figure out what I could have. I ended doing the pick 2 main dishes and a side combo. I had shrimp scampi with steam broccoli. That was enough for me and tasted great!
I haven't been to Red Lobster in years. I asked for the allergen guide and they brought me a notebook with all the major allergies. They even had a column that indicated a higher level of possible cross-contamination because of how it's prepared. I got a loaded baked potato and coleslaw (neither marked for cross-contamination). I did not get sick. It's good to know that's an option if needed.
Allergen binder provided upon request, server seemed half-knowledgable but nice about it. Not sure if sensitivity was noted to kitchen or not, but he asked regarding gluten in the dish I had wanted (it was from the orzo rice, which I don't want anyways). I've always gotten the scallop & shrimp skewers with double scallops instead, no rice. The binder was a little long and overwhelming, no dedicated menu, but it works. Don't feel the best after the meal, but maybe it was just from all the oils.
