Red Robin has gluten-free buns for their burgers. Many locations also have dedicated fryers for gluten free-fries. Please verify with your server.
I posted the review below yesterday I have since heard back from Red Robin and was given a gift card and was apologized to I don’t imagine they will be making that mistake any time soon.
I went to Red Robin last night and for the love of god if you have celiac disease do not go there!!! I ordered French fried and a plain cheese burger and said many time that I have celiac and and am gluten free and that the burger must have a gluten free bun and that I can’t have any cross contamination. I was reassured many times by the staff that “of course it’s gluten free” and “we completely understand” so I believed them like a normal human. I ate about have my burger until I realized that my bun was weird it wasn’t the Sponge like memory foam fake burger bun that they always give me this was a skinny bun that tasted so good and had amazing texture. It was not gluten free.
My sister works here and I’ve gotten burgers a few times and I haven’t gotten sick. I usually don’t ever eat out so when I do it’s always extremely anxiety provoking. My sister always puts severe allergy on my ticket multiple times. My sisters name is Krystina and she 100% understands celiac if you want to ask for her to be safe.
I am celiac and last night we were waiting a while for our food and the waitress came over. Said to me “they had to remake my burger because they put a regular bun on it and had to remake it.” I told her a year and a half ago I had the same server she was excellent, spotted it right away both times. They had to remake my salad three times because they put bread on and took it off and there were crumbs on my plate. This time they put a regular bun on instead of the gluten-free bun and had to remake it. I ate the remade burger and thank God I took my gluten ease pills. I asked for the manager and the manager didn't care he said “that there is a purple symbol for allergies” and I told him “that there's many allergies out there and I'm celiac and I could've been hospitalized for a week if I had gluten.” And he didn't even comp for the meal and basically didn't care I was very upset and I started crying I am never eating here ever again. They need to be properly trained for allergies.
I’ve gotten the gf burger and fries a number of times and only had one incident. When you wait for take out in your car(they bring it out to you) they give you a cup of fries while waiting. Once (out of 6 or 8 times doing this) the oerson who came to the car handed me the extra fries, then when I reminded her that I had a gluten free order, she took the cup of fries back. Apparently she had just grabbed a cup of fries and they weren’t from the dedicated fryer. Aside from that one mix up I haven’t had a problem. The gluten free items are limited, though.
Our favorite place to take our 8 yr old with celiac. He loves the gf bun there, and that he can have the fries. He can order confidently and get a normal kid-friendly meal.
We love all Red Robins and have NEVER gotten sick. You do need to use their app to determine what's gluten free but their website is great for all kinds of allergies. Almost every time we've been asked if we need separate fries and although they take longer, they're never cross contaminated. It's a go-to for us.
My boyfriend and I come here all the time. It's his favorite and it's the only place I can have a good burger around here. However there have been several times where I specifically order a gluten free bun and state that I have celiac, and they still bring out my burger with a regular, clearly glutenous bun. One time I had to say something and all my waiter did was bring me a new bun. Lucky I don't really have an issue with cross contamination and that I'm not confrontational cause if my mom were with me she would've ripped him a new one lol. But the latest time, our waitress caught it right away and confessed it was her mistake and was very apologetic and she brought me a whole new burger. No problem. The bf found a sheet of wax paper in his burger have way through eating it though. But they brought him a new one too and comped our whole bill. Overall their food is still delicious just watch out for wax paper and glutenous buns lol
There is no specific menu, it's all online, then you fill I'm what you need to avoid and it gives you the options. There's gf options, bread, different fry fryer. Thought it was good, had a chicken bruschetta sandwich and fries. Unfortunately my stomach starting turning and I got sick about 20 minutes after eating 😑
Multiple safe and enjoyable experiences here. Allergies are taken seriously. California Chicken, and most burgers can have a GF bun. Fries are yummy and safe too! Always careful to still insist on a safe area in kitchen, glove change etc. Haven’t gotten sick yet after 6 weeks in a row. Our new Sunday lunch place for now.
